In dealing with repentance people of well intentions have differing opinions concerning this Bible word.
Some believe repentance has no part in salvation.
Some believe repentance is the only part of salvation.
Some believe repentance is a spare tire or negotiating tool.
Some believe repentance the Biblical way.
Here in Luke 13 we giving the KEYS to repentance:

I. The Foundation of Repentance. v.1

1 There were present at that season some that told him of the Galilaeans, whose blood Pilate had mingled with their sacrifices.
Sin is defined by man.
Sin is described to Christ.

II. The Direction of Repentance. vs.2, 4

Jesus points out two immediate characteristics that His own disciples need to stop right then and there:
Self-righteousness needs to be repented of. v.2
2 And Jesus answering said unto them, Suppose ye that these Galilaeans were sinners above all the Galilaeans, because they suffered such things?
Self-sufficiency needs to be repented of. v.4
4 Or those eighteen, upon whom the tower in Siloam fell, and slew them, think ye that they were sinners above all men that dwelt in Jerusalem?

III. The Explanation of Repentance. vs.3, 5

3 I tell you, Nay: but, except ye repent, ye shall all likewise perish.
5 I tell you, Nay: but, except ye repent, ye shall all likewise perish.
It is commanded.
