I. We Are Supposed To Come To Church.
Hebrews 10:25.
Why do we have three services?
Ecclesiastes 4:12 “And if one prevail against him, two shall withstand him; and a threefold cord is not quickly broken.”
Why a Sunday morning?
John 20:1 “The first day of the week cometh Mary Magdalene early, when it was yet dark, unto the sepulchre, and seeth the stone taken away from the sepulchre.”
Acts 20:7 “And upon the first day of the week, when the disciples came together to break bread, Paul preached unto them, ready to depart on the morrow; and continued his speech until midnight.”
1 Corinthians 16:2 “Upon the first day of the week let every one of you lay by him in store, as God hath prospered him, that there be no gatherings when I come.”
Why Sunday night?
John 20:19 “Then the same day at evening, being the first day of the week, when the doors were shut where the disciples were assembled for fear of the Jews, came Jesus and stood in the midst, and saith unto them, Peace be unto you.”
Why Wednesday night?
Charles Spurgeon identified three reasons for a church to have a regular prayer meeting:
it unifies and encourages God’s people
it generates devotion to God; and
it brings God’s promised blessing (Matthew 18:19–20).
In a sermon preached August 30, 1868, Spurgeon spoke of the value of prayer meetings in general:
“The prayer-meeting is an institution which ought to be very precious to us, and to be cherished by us as a Church, for to it we owe everything. . . . It is in the spirit of prayer that our strength lies; and if we lose this, the hair will be cut off from Samson’s head, and God’s Holy Church will become weak as water and though we, as Samson did, go and try to shake ourselves as at other times, we shall hear the cry, ‘The Philistines are upon you,’ and our eyes will be put out, and our glory will depart, unless we continue mightily and earnestly in prayer.”
II. We Are Supposed To Read The Bible.
II. We Are Supposed To Read The Bible.
Revelation 1:3.
Isaiah 34:16.
In teaching on prayer in Luke 11:3 “Give us day by day our daily bread.”
A reference to both physical and spiritual bread.
Physical.
2 Thessalonians 3:12 “Now them that are such we command and exhort by our Lord Jesus Christ, that with quietness they work, and eat their own bread.”
Spiritual.
2 Corinthians 4:16 “For which cause we faint not; but though our outward man perish, yet the inward man is renewed day by day.”
We must feed the new nature.
Ephesians 4:24 “And that ye put on the new man, which after God is created in righteousness and true holiness.”
Colossians 3:10 “And have put on the new man, which is renewed in knowledge after the image of him that created him:”
We are blessed by the Lord with food (“our daily bread”)
We are blessed by the Lord with fait (Romans 10:17)
III. We Are Supposed To Study The Bible.
III. We Are Supposed To Study The Bible.
2 Timothy 2:15.
Acts 17:11 “These were more noble than those in Thessalonica, in that they received the word with all readiness of mind, and searched the scriptures daily, whether those things were so.”
Psalm 25:9 “The meek will he guide in judgment: and the meek will he teach his way.”
John 16:13 “Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth: for he shall not speak of himself; but whatsoever he shall hear, that shall he speak: and he will shew you things to come.”
John 14:26 “But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you.”

IV. We Are Supposed To Tithe.
Malachi 3:10
“Bring ye all the tithes into the storehouse, that there may be meat in mine house, and prove me now herewith, saith the LORD of hosts, if I will not open you the windows of heaven, and pour you out a blessing, that there shall not be room enough to receive it.”
“tithe” - a word that means a tenth.
Occurs 14 times in the Bible. (14 = deliverance, salvation)
Tithe and its plural form tithes combine to 38 occurrences.
(1st occurrence) Genesis 14:20 “And blessed be the most high God, which hath delivered thine enemies into thy hand. And he gave him tithes of all.”
There is a command to tithe.
“Bring ye all the tithes”
There is a church to tithe to.
“into the storehouse” (Malachi 3:10)
Saints are blessed when they tithe.
“if I will not open you the windows of heaven, and pour you out a blessing, that there shall not be room enough to receive it”
Sinners are blessed when they tithe.
Sanctuaries are blessed when its members tithe.
“that there may be meat in mine house”
There is a concern about tithing.

This money pays the power bill, water bill, and property insurance.
This is money that keeps the building up.
Toilet paper, cleaning supplies, coffee, copy machine, broadcast, parking lot, heating, air conditioning, etc.
This is money that pays the pastor.
There are two types of churches:
Bad churches.
Missing key elements of supplies, service, Scriptural authority, salvations, sanctification, and The Spirit of God.
Good churches.
They love the Lord. This shows in how they give to the church and support the pastor God gave them.
You cannot out give God!
