The New King James Version Chapter 2
24 who Himself bore our sins in His own body on the tree, that we, having died to sins, might live for righteousness—by whose stripes you were healed.
He was despised and rejected by men, a man of suffering who knew what sickness was. He was like someone people turned away from; he was despised, and we didn’t value him.
Yet he himself bore our sicknesses, and he carried our pains; but we in turn regarded him stricken, struck down by God, and afflicted.
But he was pierced because of our rebellion, crushed because of our iniquities; punishment for our peace was on him, and we are healed by his wounds.
The New King James Version Chapter 53
3 He is despised and rejected by men,
A Man of sorrows and acquainted with grief.
And we hid, as it were, our faces from Him;
He was despised, and we did not esteem Him.
4 Surely He has borne our griefs
And carried our sorrows;
Yet we esteemed Him stricken,
Smitten by God, and afflicted.
5 But He was wounded for our transgressions,
He was bruised for our iniquities;
The chastisement for our peace was upon Him,
And by His stripes we are healed.
so that what was spoken through the prophet Isaiah might be fulfilled: He himself took our weaknesses and carried our diseases.
We must understand that healing belongs to us. The same as salvation. We don’t need to convince God to save us, we must receive what He has already provided. He doesn’t save you when you pray, you just receive what Jesus purchased. It is the same with healing. He paid for it already with the stripes He bore, He bore our sickness.
We must know how to receive. Healing is legally purchased, vitally possessed. We must possess the purchase by faith. Prayer, laying on of hands, anointing with oil, gifts of the spirit, all ways to receive, but faith can receive without any of these.
Knowledge is power. What I know can always trump what I feel. I must know that I was healed, not trying to get healed. Healed is past tense not trying to get, but receiving.
God is not a respecter of persons. He healed them all. Healing was purchased for us all. The only person He ever put sickness on was Jesus. The same as sin, He bore it so we could be freed from it.
Healing is a gift, like salvation, already paid for at Calvary. We don’t have to do anything to deserve it, just accept it. All we need to do is possess the promise. As a child of God healing belong to us.
