In the first century, we see the church forming as the Gospel spreads both geographically and through diversity. While the initial followers of Jesus were, as he was, Jews - from Pentecost on, the work of the Spirit flows over all types of people. The unity of the believers is clear, and comes from the belief in Jesus as the Messiah.
