Acts 2:42

Prayer is for all people
Prayer without faith! What sort of prayer is it? It is the prayer of a man who does not believe in God.
Charles Spurgeon
21  Churches can run without prayer. Whole denominations can run without prayer. The question is: Is what they’re doing worth doing if they can do it without prayer?
Ben Patterson
Deepening Your Conversation with God (1991)

True prayer is measured by weight, not by length. A single groan before God may have more fullness of prayer in it than a fine oration of great length. The Secret Of Power In Prayer, Volume 34, Sermon #2002 - John 15:7
Charles Spurgeon
987God the Holy Ghost writes our prayers, God the Son presents our prayers, and God the Father accepts our prayers. And with the whole Trinity to help us in it, what cannot prayer perform?—54.342, 343
Charles Spurgeon
When you feel disinclined to pray, let it be a sign to you that prayer is doubly necessary! Pray for prayer!
The Sealed Hand-A Winter Sermon, Volume 58, Sermon #3289 - Job 37:7
Charles Spurgeon
Prayer is the most important thing in my life. If I should neglect prayer for a single day, I should lose a great deal of the fire of faith.
Martin Luther
Everything we do in the Christian life is easier than prayer.
David Martyn Lloyd-Jones
Public prayer is no evidence of piety. It is practised by an abundance of hypocrites. But private prayer is a thing for which the hypocrite has no heart.
Charles Spurgeon
Some of the greatest prayer is prayer where you don’t say one single word or ask for anything…. God does answer and He does give us what we ask for. That’s plain; nobody can deny that unless he denies the Scriptures. But that’s only one aspect of prayer, and it’s not even the important aspect. Sometimes I go to God and say, “God, if Thou dost never answer another prayer while I live on this earth I will still worship Thee as long as I live and in the ages to come for what Thou hast done already.” God’s already put me so far in debt that if I were to live one million millenniums I couldn’t pay Him for what He’s done for me.1
A. W. Tozer
True prayer cannot be imitated nor can it be learned from someone else. Everyone must pray as if he alone could pray, and his approach must be individual and independent—independent, that is, of everyone but the Holy Spirit.4
A. W. Tozer
