1 Corinthians 10:23–11:1 (ESV)
23 “All things are lawful,” but not all things are helpful. “All things are lawful,” but not all things build up.
Just because you can..... Should you.... Here is how you know if you should.
Does it build up God
Does it build up Someone else
Does it Build up the Church.
If it does not do one of these YOU SHOULD NOT DO IT
24 Let no one seek his own good, but the good of his neighbor.
This is our number one issues, we are too self centered.
There has never been more of a self centered faith then the American Church today.
Untill this attatude is fixed
We will not grow at believers
our church will not grow
The Spirit will suffer.
WE have to be more about others, before we start to become the church God called us to be.
25 Eat whatever is sold in the meat market without raising any question on the ground of conscience. 26 For “the earth is the Lord’s, and the fullness thereof.” 27 If one of the unbelievers invites you to dinner and you are disposed to go, eat whatever is set before you without raising any question on the ground of conscience. 28 But if someone says to you, “This has been offered in sacrifice,” then do not eat it, for the sake of the one who informed you, and for the sake of conscience— 29 I do not mean your conscience, but his. For why should my liberty be determined by someone else’s conscience? 30 If I partake with thankfulness, why am I denounced because of that for which I give thanks?
understand what is going on.....
if someone is looking at you and your walk
It is important that you do the right thing not just your sake, but for the sake of the other.
So many act so holy in church, but when it counts the most, we dont live any differnt then the rest of the world.
Why do we feel it is more important to act holy in church then to be holy in the world.
We excuse our failures around others but we have no need for excuses in church
WE HAVE IT BACKWORDS CHURCH
We Should hold ourselves more accountable outside of the church and more forgiving in the church
THIS HAS TO CHANGE
31 So, whether you eat or drink, or whatever you do, do all to the glory of God.
What ever you are doing. at home at church at work, where ever do it as if you are doing it to God
don't give your self a way out.
God will forgive me
if you know you shouldn't and do it anyway are you really convicted ?
God knows I am a sinner
He has called you to be better
God will understand
God never just excuses sin, he will forgive but never excuses it.
sin is sin, and we should stay away from it for others and for our sake.
32 Give no offense to Jews or to Greeks or to the church of God,
Do not do anything offensive
to people who agree with you
to people who dont agree with you
or to the church
can i tell you people offed the church more then they know
rumors spreading to distory the leadership, or the church
talking negivite about the church becasue its not going the way they want
tashing the church
I have seen it done over and over at evey church
It is our job to help each other, call each other out, and correct each other. IF we let it happens and not address it, we are just as much as the problem
33 just as I try to please everyone in everything I do, not seeking my own advantage, but that of many, that they may be saved.
Do everything we can to please thouse who we can.
we cant please everyone but that shouldnt keep us from trying to do our best
stop fighting with one another and find peace
stop complaing about one another and find compassion
stop arugguing with one another and start finding aggremment
IT is our chouice, it is in our power.
what are you using yours to do
to build, to lead, or to break down. ????
1 Be imitators of me, as I am of Christ.
I did not come into this world to be served but to serve
Your Will not mine be done
seek FIRST the kingdom of God
