Faith Triumphs

Chapter 4 we saw Abraham was used as an example of being Justified by Faith and not by circumcision
And So was David
and now were going to Look at chapter 5 where it is labeled faith triumphs in trouble in the first 5 verses
Romans 5:1 “1 Therefore, having been justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ,”
what does it mean to truly have peace in this life ?
what is peace ?
it Means in simple terms that we are no longer at war with God through the death of Jesus on the cross
before Jesus died for us we were at odds
His death granted us the ability to be on the right side “the right team “
In the first 3 chapters we learned that we were guilty sinners before the Law of God
Jesus was sacrificed on behalf of those who did not love Him
He died for those who did not respect Him
He died for those who rejected Him
we went from being guilty sinners to being justified and justified by faith
Romans 5:2 “2 through whom also we have access by faith into this grace in which we stand, and rejoice in hope of the glory of God.”
Romans 5:3 “3 And not only that, but we also glory in tribulations, knowing that tribulation produces perseverance;”
Romans 5:4 “4 and perseverance, character; and character, hope.”
Romans 5:5 “5 Now hope does not disappoint, because the love of God has been poured out in our hearts by the Holy Spirit who was given to us.”
