Today I want to look at God’s command in the garden and what that has to do with us today

For our pleasure and enjoyment (vs
Every tree that God created was pleasant to the sight and good for food
God wants us to have good things and commands us to enjoy them, even the tree of life!
For our freedom
God’s commands are not restricting but freeing
We can live a life of freedom in God’s plans
Marriage is created by God in the next verses
Marriage is not restricting but gives freedom to the husband and wife to enjoy all the benefits that God has in store for us
For our protection
God loves us and does not want to see any harm come to us
Not all knowledge brings benefit to us. God is the only one who is all knowing and had the sufficient wisdom and power to handle it

Doubts God
Doubts God given goodness and desire to give us pleasures (Ye shall not eat of the fruits of the garden)
Doubts God given freedoms (neither shall ye touch it) God is restricting us

Lust of the flesh, lust of the eyes, pride of life

The knowledge of good and evil
They already had the knowledge of good
Everything God created was good
They were introduceed to evil
Once the turn was made than all they knew was evil
Their eyes were opened to evil (vs 7)

All men’s thoughts were continuously evil (Genesis 6:5-6)
Know that satan wants to destroy the good things that God has in store for us (2 Corinthians 2:11)
Trust God’s plans and commands
He is a good God and has wonderful things planned for us if we simply trust him
