So who here has gone through Uncertain times where you did not know the outcome of a situation?? Does anyone know the song “Firm Foundation” By Cody Carnes? who knows the story behind that? Well to summaries it. It was because of the Pandemic in 2020 and then a lot of other things happened to Cody during the Pandemic years. So today I will be going through the same passages that Cody went through and how he found “Certain Hope in Uncertain Times” So Lets look take a look at what scriptrue has to say about this topic.
“Everyone then who hears these words of mine and does them will be like a wise man who built his house on the rock. And the rain fell, and the floods came, and the winds blew and beat on that house, but it did not fall, because it had been founded on the rock. And everyone who hears these words of mine and does not do them will be like a foolish man who built his house on the sand. And the rain fell, and the floods came, and the winds blew and beat against that house, and it fell, and great was the fall of it.”
So who here know how to build a house? What is the most important part of building a House? Well, Its the Foundation Frame. Without the frame it start to fall down. because it did not have that firm foundation. Its the Same with our faith… We need to lay that foundation of the house down in our faith. Think of our faith as a house for example we need that firm foundation if we want to not get knocked down when our storms come. it may not be a phyisical storm but we definently have our spiritual storms.
Matthew 5:2–12 “And he opened his mouth and taught them, saying: “Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. “Blessed are those who mourn, for they shall be comforted. “Blessed are the meek, for they shall inherit the earth. “Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they shall be satisfied. “Blessed are the merciful, for they shall receive mercy. “Blessed are the pure in heart, for they shall see God. “Blessed are the peacemakers, for they shall be called sons of God. “Blessed are those who are persecuted for righteousness’ sake, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. “Blessed are you when others revile you and persecute you and utter all kinds of evil against you falsely on my account. Rejoice and be glad, for your reward is great in heaven, for so they persecuted the prophets who were before you.”
The Sermon on the mount teaches us love, compassion, and selflessness. and I really like when Jesus said “Blessed are the meek, for they shall inherit the earth” “Because the definition of “Meekness” is essentially an attitude or quality of heart where by a person is willing to accept and submit without resistance to the will and desire of someone else. In the case of Christians, this is God.”
