Why are we here - Burned up palm leaves

Third most popular day - Easter, Christmas

Nothing magical … nothing bad will happen if we do not get.

Not a day of obligation

Really almost meaningless … certainly for the secular world

However, for us - If we have the right attitude

Rend your hearts not your garments - Interior not exterior

Beginning of a season of repentance

Repenting of sins - Spiritually and psychologically - Healing

During lent we are called to Pray, Fasting and Alms giving

We are required to fast and abstain from meat both today and Good Friday

Also Abstain from meat on Fridays

As well give up or add to

Not to lose weigh, get healthier - But to grow closed to God

But above all of that

Repent and believe in the Gospel
