YOUR STORY MATTERS
Here is THE BOTTOM LINE:
Satan is against God
Satan is against you.
Satan has a Destiny
You have a Destiny
God choose you
We have become his poetry
recreated to fulfill his destiny
we have been woven together to fit into God’s perfect plan for good.
we are his chosen treasure
we are his priests — Why?
“That we would broadcast his glorious wonders throughout the world”
and that we might worship him without restraint and give Him the glory that is due to HIM!

GENEROSITY/UPDATE
Cafe Hope, doors open at 10am on Sundays.
Finance Small Group Part 2 Kicks off this week.
Hispanic Church Today 2pm!
You say that you want Revival?
“A church that’s content to leave all the ministering to the leadership is a church facing cyclical obsolescence…
A fellowship of empowered and activated people are the face of revival...” ~Cere Muscarella
cyclical obsolescence is where the part becomes obsolete.
examples:
light bulb
batteries
short lasting nylon stockings
non-refillable printer ink cartridges
The Bible says,
Matthew 16:18 NLT
18 Now I say to you that you are Peter (which means ‘rock’), and upon this rock I will build my church, and all the powers of hell will not conquer it.
Romans 15:13 NLT
13 I pray that God, the source of hope, will fill you completely with joy and peace because you trust in him. Then you will overflow with confident hope through the power of the Holy Spirit.
Ephesians 5:18 NLT
18 Don’t be drunk with wine, because that will ruin your life. Instead, be filled with the Holy Spirit,
Acts 7:55 NLT
55 But Stephen, full of the Holy Spirit, gazed steadily into heaven and saw the glory of God, and he saw Jesus standing in the place of honor at God’s right hand.
Acts 1:8 NLT
8 But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes upon you. And you will be my witnesses, telling people about me everywhere—in Jerusalem, throughout Judea, in Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.”
Acts 2:4 NLT
4 And everyone present was filled with the Holy Spirit and began speaking in other languages, as the Holy Spirit gave them this ability.
Acts 4:8 NLT
8 Then Peter, filled with the Holy Spirit, said to them, “Rulers and elders of our people,
…and 3000 were added to the church.
THE CHURCH IS NOT FADING AWAY LIKE A...
light bulb or
battery or
short lasting nylon stockings or a
non-refillable printer ink cartridges
The church is the Body of Jesus Christ
He is the Cornerstone and the Gates of Hell will not prevail over it...
The church is made up of you and me
We are empowered with gifts, possessing spiritual power to be his witnesses, and we have been given the mandate to Go!
Mark 16:15–16 NLT
15 And then he told them, “Go into all the world and preach the Good News to everyone. 16 Anyone who believes and is baptized will be saved. But anyone who refuses to believe will be condemned.
SOMETIMES WHEN WE TALK ABOUT THESE THINGS, PEOPLE GET THEIR FEELINGS HURT AS THEY MAKE EXCUSES WHY THEY HAVEN’T EVER
led someone in prayer to receive Jesus
nor prayed with someone to be healed
much less even invited an individual to church etc.
WE NEED TO REKINDLE THE FLAME IN US...
2 Timothy 1:5–8 (NLT)
5 I remember your genuine faith, for you share the faith that first filled your grandmother Lois and your mother, Eunice. And I know that same faith continues strong in you.
6 This is why I remind you to fan into flames the spiritual gift God gave you when I laid my hands on you.
7 For God has not given us a spirit of fear and timidity, but of power, love, and self-discipline.
8 So never be ashamed to tell others about our Lord. And don’t be ashamed of me, either, even though I’m in prison for him. With the strength God gives you, be ready to suffer with me for the sake of the Good News.
YOU HAVE A STORY
God gave you a story for a reason
Is it hid or is it in plain view?
We can get cynical towards people who are not like us, even pastors.
WHAT HAVE YOU DONE TO RECALL YOUR STORY?
Let’s look at this from a different perspective
My friend use to quote is phrase now and then...
“Familiarity breeds contentment.”
if you know a person or situation very well, you can easily lose respect for that person or become careless in that situation.
example:
knowing family members so well that we lower the bar and loose respect for one another, even our elders.
The Pharisees— they knew the law so well that when the Word of Life was standing right in front of them, they could not recognize the Lord of lords and the King of kings.
Matthew 16:5–12 (NLT)
5 Later, after they crossed to the other side of the lake, the disciples discovered they had forgotten to bring any bread.
6 “Watch out!” Jesus warned them. “Beware of the yeast of the Pharisees and Sadducees.”
7 At this they began to argue with each other because they hadn’t brought any bread.
8 Jesus knew what they were saying, so he said, “You have so little faith! Why are you arguing with each other about having no bread?
9 Don’t you understand even yet? Don’t you remember the 5,000 I fed with five loaves, and the baskets of leftovers you picked up?
10 Or the 4,000 I fed with seven loaves, and the large baskets of leftovers you picked up?
11 Why can’t you understand that I’m not talking about bread? So again I say, ‘Beware of the yeast of the Pharisees and Sadducees.’ ”
12 Then at last they understood that he wasn’t speaking about the yeast in bread, but about the deceptive teaching of the Pharisees and Sadducees.
PRAYER
Lord, turn our hearts away from the leaven of this world. Give us your heart in all we do.
Lord, don’t let us become soft kneed, people who casually pray—
Lord, stir a fire up in our bones—let us never take you for grant it and the life you have given us.
Lord, restore to us all the joy of our salvation with a passion to tell our Jesus Story every where, to everyone, all the time for the sake of Christ… in Jesus Name Amen.
THE STEPS TO CHANGE
Repent
Turn to God with a Listening heart and ear.
Do the first thing He says to do— No matter how odd it might sound.
then Share it with a friend.
Romans 12:1–2 (NLT)
1 And so, dear brothers and sisters, I plead with you to give your bodies to God because of all he has done for you. Let them be a living and holy sacrifice—the kind he will find acceptable. This is truly the way to worship him.
2 Don’t copy the behavior and customs of this world, but let God transform you into a new person by changing the way you think. Then you will learn to know God’s will for you, which is good and pleasing and perfect.
