But then there’s the next scene. Abram continues to move forward on his journey. And gets to a place for temporary stay. He’s in foreign territory, between the city of Luz (later called Bethel by Jacob) and Ai. Between twisted and ruined. GOD didn’t appear in this place, but Abram still believed he was near, because he built another altar and called on him.
Application: When you know that GOD has been in your here and now, it should encourage us all to know he’s always near! So, we will call on him, wherever I am. What are some things to seek? In Abram’s case: direction, more clarity, and courage!
