READ 1 PETER 3:13-22-
“Jake, I want you to take him out!” I felt that I was covered
Peter used the following verses to cover Christians with encouragement who were in the midst of hostility.
Christians are not the majority.
Disciples are surrounded by hostility.
People do not have your best interest at heart.
We have to root our lives in Jesus.

1. Christ the Center

Devoted - Zealous for good.
People who identified as Christian experienced great suffering.
You are blessed either way.
Don’t be afraid of the battle.
Hold Christ in high regard and be ready to give your take on what He has done.
Not out of anger or selfish intent.
Practice what you profess.
When you live out true faith in Jesus, your testimony won’t be put to shame.
“Christ the Center” - Gal. 2:20-
We are not capable of pretending for all eternity.
When life squeezes you, what’s in the center will come out.
This is why Jesus said to make disciples.
Your mess can become your message.
A life centered on Jesus cannot be removed.

2. The Cleansing Power of Salvation

It’s better to suffer in your in the will of God.
Christ knew this all too well.
He (righteous) suffered for us (unrighteous).
His body died, but he was made alive by the Holy Spirit.
He passed through death and rose in victory.
Spirits - pneuma (20 times to angelic spirits and 17 times to human spirits.)
Genesis 6:5-8; 12-13.
Jesus spiritually spoke through Noah as he built the ark.
By uniting with the ark, Noah and his family were saved from the flood.
Flood = death (Hebrews 9:27)
Ark = Jesus (Hebrews 9:28)
When the floods come, the people get to decide where to be.
Baptism - Dunked under water and up alive.
Baptism, within itself does not save you, but the spiritual thing attached to, repentance and faith, is the sign and seal of salvation.
Our life is built upon Jesus who has authority and is seated at the right hand of god.
He is our proof of why we can endure through the evil day.
Why is there power in the name of Jesus?
Jesus broke the chain of sin so we can be free.
“So if the Son sets you free, you really will be free.” - John 8:36.
