What is the greatest commandment Jesus told us?
37 Jesus replied, “ ‘You must love the Lord your God with all your heart, all your soul, and all your mind.’ 38 This is the first and greatest commandment. 39 A second is equally important: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’
Love is the definition of a Christian life.
Love is the definition of a Christian life.
Las week we saw how God first loved us by sending Jesus down to pay the penalty for our sins. This week we are looking how WE ARE TO EXEMPLIFY LOVE.
18 Dear children, let’s not merely say that we love each other; let us show the truth by our actions. 19 Our actions will show that we belong to the truth, so we will be confident when we stand before God.
Lets not just say that we love each other. But lets put it into action. Those who have the spirit, show the fruit of the spirit. I have said it before the fruit of the spirit can be summed up in one word: LOVE. We see in 1 Cor 13:4-7
4 Love is patient and kind. Love is not jealous or boastful or proud 5 or rude. It does not demand its own way. It is not irritable, and it keeps no record of being wronged. 6 It does not rejoice about injustice but rejoices whenever the truth wins out. 7 Love never gives up, never loses faith, is always hopeful, and endures through every circumstance.
You cannot hurry love.
You cannot hurry love.
Thats what we see with our story today. Four men who go out of their way and shows the love that changed them to a man who was in need.
