And inasmuch as it is appointed for men to die once and after this comes judgment,

The one thing that is inescapable is DEATH.

If you live long enough, you will die

It makes what you do in this life even more crucial - Because God assesses your relationship with Him by the way you treat His son and His children

Bucket List [Story]

His bucket list keeps getting longer: for ten years now, Thibaut Schweppes of Thonon-les-Bains has been travelling the world. The 30-year-old Frenchman has been keeping a record of the journey on his blog, Le Tour du Monde de mes Pieds (Around the World on My Feet). His aim is to “take stock, keep memories alive and, at the same time, carry on dreaming”. Thibaut has been pretty much everywhere: from Argentina to Viet Nam, from the United States to New Zealand. Still missing from his itinerary is a major tour of Africa. His speciality is photographs of tourist sites featuring his feet, about which he writes: “One of my favourite remarks during my travels has become, ‘I need to set foot in that place’!”

Heaven - “I need to set foot in that place”

But in order to do that, I need a bucket list

I need a “spiritual bucket list”

These are some things you need to do before you die

#1 Know Jesus

If we are asked if we know our favourite actor, blogger, singer, etc. Chances are that’s a long conversation

But what if the question was, Do you know Jesus?

An even better question to ask is does Jesus know you?

He is Saviour of the world

Matthew 1:21 ““She will bear a Son; and you shall call His name Jesus, for He will save His people from their sins.””

Acts 4:12 ““And there is salvation in no one else; for there is no other name under heaven that has been given among men by which we must be saved.””

1 John 4:14 “We have seen and testify that the Father has sent the Son to be the Savior of the world.”

This means that Jesus is our deliverer. This implies we are in danger

From Sin and Death

He is Mediator

1 Timothy 2:5 “For there is one God, and one mediator also between God and men, the man Christ Jesus,”

This means Jesus went between to parties at war and made reconciliation

He is Judge

Acts 17:30–31 ““Therefore having overlooked the times of ignorance, God is now declaring to men that all people everywhere should repent, because He has fixed a day in which He will judge the world in righteousness through a Man whom He has appointed, having furnished proof to all men by raising Him from the dead.””

#2 Obey Jesus

It’s not good enough to know Him, I need to obey Him

Matthew 17:5 “While he was still speaking, a bright cloud overshadowed them, and behold, a voice out of the cloud said, “This is My beloved Son, with whom I am well-pleased; listen to Him!””

Are you willing to act on what you know and believe?

James 2:19 “You believe that God is one. You do well; the demons also believe, and shudder.”

The only way to be saved from sin and death, and have a hope of eternal life is to obey Jesus

Hebrews 5:8–9 “Although He was a Son, He learned obedience from the things which He suffered. And having been made perfect, He became to all those who obey Him the source of eternal salvation,”

#3 Live For Jesus

This one will be a challenge

Matthew 7:13–14 ““Enter through the narrow gate; for the gate is wide and the way is broad that leads to destruction, and there are many who enter through it. “For the gate is small and the way is narrow that leads to life, and there are few who find it.”

Hebrews 12:1 “Therefore, since we have so great a cloud of witnesses surrounding us, let us also lay aside every encumbrance and the sin which so easily entangles us, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us,”

2 Timothy 2:11–13 “It is a trustworthy statement: For if we died with Him, we will also live with Him; If we endure, we will also reign with Him; If we deny Him, He also will deny us; If we are faithless, He remains faithful, for He cannot deny Himself.”

Sometimes life is troubling. . . .

But Jesus “Let not your heart be troubled. . .”

John 14:1–6 ““Do not let your heart be troubled; believe in God, believe also in Me. “In My Father’s house are many dwelling places; if it were not so, I would have told you; for I go to prepare a place for you. “If I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and receive you to Myself, that where I am, there you may be also. “And you know the way where I am going.” Thomas said to Him, “Lord, we do not know where You are going, how do we know the way?” Jesus said to him, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life; no one comes to the Father but through Me.”

Put These on your Bucket List

Because when you die that’s it, no more chances and opportunities.
