Welcome
We’ve studied the Model prayer and tonight we will practice it.
Our first step is Focusing on God, on our relationship with him as our loving father and his holiness as our father In HEAVEN.
Our youth will lead us in focusing on God’s goodness through Scripture:

Seek First the Kingdom

Matthew 6:9–10 HCSB
9 “Therefore, you should pray like this: Our Father in heaven, Your name be honored as holy. 10 Your kingdom come. Your will be done on earth as it is in heaven.
Josh: After focusing on God, our next step is to Seek First the Kingdom in prayer. There are many ways we can pray for God’s kingdom. We could pray for:
Pray for one another’s spiritual walk
Pray for the backslidden
Pray for the lost
Pray for missions
Pray for awakening
Pray for a specific mission
Today I feel God calling us to pray for a specific mission and one that is coming up: Our Youth Mission Madness Trip. I’m going to invite you respond in prayer right now and will guide you by suggesting you to do three things. I’ll first say the invitation then ask you to do that.
Everyone going on March Mission Madness please stand
Gather around a student and adult leaders. (Make sure this is evenly divided and all students have someone praying for them). {do now}
Students and adults, please share your name with the people who will be praying for you. {do now}
In a moment do these.
Place your hand on their shoulder or back.
Pray out loud, interceding for them, going to God on their behalf. Pray for God’s kingdom to come and will to be done by using them to build the kingdom, to see God moving, and for the people they will be serving.
Have piano music play in the background during this time.

Present Your Requests

Matthew 6:11–13 HCSB
11 Give us today our daily bread. 12 And forgive us our debts, as we also have forgiven our debtors. 13 And do not bring us into temptation, but deliver us from the evil one. [For Yours is the kingdom and the power and the glory forever. Amen.]
Josh: The last step of our time of prayer is to present our requests to God. We pray for our daily bread (our physical and emotional needs), for forgiveness of our sins, and for God’s protection and deliverance.
Often this is ALL we pray for, but today, practicing the Lord’s Model Prayer for us we’ve saved it for last.
{Invite prayer requests for our needs}
{Invite People to pray silently for prayer requests}

Close in Celebration

Matthew 6:13b
Ernie: We are so thankful that God, our Good father hears our prayers. Will you join in saying final line of the model prayer.
For Yours is the kingdom and the power
and the glory forever. Amen.
