“Now if anyone has caused pain, he has caused it not to me, but in some measure—not to put it too severely—to all of you. 6 For such a one, this punishment by the majority is enough, 7 so you should rather turn to forgive and comfort him, or he may be overwhelmed by excessive sorrow. 8 So I beg you to reaffirm your love for him. 9 For this is why I wrote, that I might test you and know whether you are obedient in everything. 10 Anyone whom you forgive, I also forgive. Indeed, what I have forgiven, if I have forgiven anything, has been for your sake in the presence of Christ, 11 so that we would not be outwitted by Satan; for we are not ignorant of his designs."
Context
The Lexham Bible Dictionary (Graeco-Roman Corinth)
The city of Corinth is located in modern day Greece on the northeast corner of the Peloponnesian Peninsula. It is about 90 kilometers (48 miles) west of Athens. Its location on the narrow isthmus between the Peloponnesian Peninsula and mainland Greece made it a great place for commerce. Corinth controlled the land route between Italy and Asia and also between two ports.
This trade route would have meant that the Greco Roman influence here was extreme. Any practicing Christians would have had to contend with the influence around them. A booming city focused on status wealth and power. It is here that we see Paul plant a church and begin to help shape them though his letters.
Paul’s first letter involves church discipline and is regarding someone whom was living in flagrant sin. The man was sleeping with his fathers wife. 1 Corinthians 5:1–2 It is actually reported that there is sexual immorality among you, and of a kind that is not tolerated even among pagans, for a man has his father’s wife. 2 And you are arrogant! Ought you not rather to mourn? Let him who has done this be removed from among you.

Point 1

Why start with this!?!? Luckily, we wont spend much time here, just to know that Paul’s second letter can offer explanation about the difficulties we face in relationship to one another. Some scholars say that this section of 2 Corinthians does not involve the incestuous man from 1 corinthains but i believe it does. If we see that the man repented of his sins
