FOCUS ON JESUS

Focus on Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith.
Read Hebrews 12:2-3
Hebrews 12:2–3 ESV
2 looking to Jesus, the founder and perfecter of our faith, who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is seated at the right hand of the throne of God. 3 Consider him who endured from sinners such hostility against himself, so that you may not grow weary or fainthearted.
The meaning of our salvation:
2 Timothy 1:8–9 ESV
8 Therefore do not be ashamed of the testimony about our Lord, nor of me his prisoner, but share in suffering for the gospel by the power of God, 9 who saved us and called us to a holy calling, not because of our works but because of his own purpose and grace, which he gave us in Christ Jesus before the ages began,
1 Corinthians 1:9 ESV
9 God is faithful, by whom you were called into the fellowship of his Son, Jesus Christ our Lord.
Know that you are saved and called, for the purposes of God, and that God is faithful always.
What we can learn from Jesus:
Therefore we are reminded in Hebrews 12:2 to look to Jesus:
“looking to Jesus, the founder and perfecter of our [a] faith, who for the joy that was set before him [b] endured the cross, despising [c] the shame, and [d] is seated at the right hand of the throne of God.”
[a] A life of faith in God
[b] Endurance (Do not grow weary or fainthearted):
Luke 24:26 ESV
26 Was it not necessary that the Christ should suffer these things and enter into his glory?”
Philippians 2:8 ESV
8 And being found in human form, he humbled himself by becoming obedient to the point of death, even death on a cross.
Isaiah 53:11 ESV
11 Out of the anguish of his soul he shall see and be satisfied; by his knowledge shall the righteous one, my servant, make many to be accounted righteous, and he shall bear their iniquities.
[c] Mastering the shame.
Shameful situation can set you back, discourage, make one look down on self.
Psalm 22:6–7 ESV
6 But I am a worm and not a man, scorned by mankind and despised by the people. 7 All who see me mock me; they make mouths at me; they wag their heads;
Psalm 69:19 ESV
19 You know my reproach, and my shame and my dishonor; my foes are all known to you.
Isaiah 53:3 ESV
3 He was despised and rejected by men, a man of sorrows and acquainted with grief; and as one from whom men hide their faces he was despised, and we esteemed him not.
[d] Be Seated (position of waiting for God’s time):
Hebrews 1:3 ESV
3 He is the radiance of the glory of God and the exact imprint of his nature, and he upholds the universe by the word of his power. After making purification for sins, he sat down at the right hand of the Majesty on high,
As people, we often get tired of Life but,
Do Not Grow Weary
Do not be faintheart
Do not rely too much on your doubts, your fears
Do not Look down on yourself
Do not neglect what the word of God say
Our lives can take a different turn or route than the one we wanted or thought of as good.
We should not despair when we go through various things because God loves us and identifies with our hearts.
We should not allow Satan to confuse us through what we are facing, to think contrary to what God say. I mean to doubt God.
Always place God where he belongs in our heart. He is not against us but for us.
