Abraham Justified by Faith

Vs. 1-12
A. A mans works are not justified by God
B. A mans Faith, Belief is counted by God
Romans 4:7–8 ESV
“Blessed are those whose lawless deeds are forgiven, and whose sins are covered; blessed is the man against whom the Lord will not count his sin.”
How does this happen? V 5
Romans 4:5 “And to the one who does not work but believes in him who justifies the ungodly, his faith is counted as righteousness,”
C. Abraham’s FAITH is what counted as righteousness to God, NOT his circumcision.

The Promise Realized through Faith

Vs. 13-25
A. A Promise of Blessing
Galatians 3:16–18 ESV
Now the promises were made to Abraham and to his offspring. It does not say, “And to offsprings,” referring to many, but referring to one, “And to your offspring,” who is Christ. This is what I mean: the law, which came 430 years afterward, does not annul a covenant previously ratified by God, so as to make the promise void. For if the inheritance comes by the law, it no longer comes by promise; but God gave it to Abraham by a promise.
Remember that it was clear that Abraham was to offer his ONLY son. Very important.
B. A Belief in the Promise V20
Unwavering, strong relationship.
C. Abraham’s Teaching vs. 23-25

“It was counted to him.”

Not just for Abraham but for all who believe in Him, in Jesus. It will be counted! Sin atoned, justification given.
