Colossians 1:9–10 NKJV
9 For this reason we also, since the day we heard it, do not cease to pray for you, and to ask that you may be filled with the knowledge of His will in all wisdom and spiritual understanding; 10 that you may walk worthy of the Lord, fully pleasing Him, being fruitful in every good work and increasing in the knowledge of God;

Sermon Text:

Malachi 3:10–11 NKJV
10 Bring all the tithes into the storehouse, That there may be food in My house, And try Me now in this,” Says the Lord of hosts, “If I will not open for you the windows of heaven And pour out for you such blessing That there will not be room enough to receive it. 11 “And I will rebuke the devourer for your sakes, So that he will not destroy the fruit of your ground, Nor shall the vine fail to bear fruit for you in the field,” Says the Lord of hosts;

1. Where dose all my provision come from?

Philippians 4:19–20 NKJV
19 And my God shall supply all your need according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus. 20 Now to our God and Father be glory forever and ever. Amen.
Haggai 2:8 NKJV
8 ‘The silver is Mine, and the gold is Mine,’ says the Lord of hosts.
Psalm 90:17 NKJV
17 And let the beauty of the Lord our God be upon us, And establish the work of our hands for us; Yes, establish the work of our hands.

Do you believe everything you have come from God?

I know where my help comes from! I know its the Lord that has blessed me with what I have!

2. Tithes and offerings.

Genesis 14:18–20 NKJV
18 Then Melchizedek king of Salem brought out bread and wine; he was the priest of God Most High. 19 And he blessed him and said: “Blessed be Abram of God Most High, Possessor of heaven and earth; 20 And blessed be God Most High, Who has delivered your enemies into your hand.” And he gave him a tithe of all.

A tithe is one tenth of your increase.

Malachi 3:10 NKJV
10 Bring all the tithes into the storehouse, That there may be food in My house, And try Me now in this,” Says the Lord of hosts, “If I will not open for you the windows of heaven And pour out for you such blessing That there will not be room enough to receive it.

What is the store house?

The store house is the local Church.

If this is the Church you attend, this is your Store house.
this is how the church handles it’s financial commitments.
The all of our cost are taken care of by the tithes and offerings.
as more people support the ministry we can expand our ministry and impact.

First fruit is the best way to tithe.

Proverbs 3:9–10 NKJV
9 Honor the Lord with your possessions, And with the firstfruits of all your increase; 10 So your barns will be filled with plenty, And your vats will overflow with new wine.

Tithing is an act of faith.

Tithing is an act of worship.

Luke 12:42 NKJV
42 And the Lord said, “Who then is that faithful and wise steward, whom his master will make ruler over his household, to give them their portion of food in due season?

An offering is a gift given to a ministry outside the local Church or a gift given to a special Church projects.

3. We are prescribed attitudes about giving.

We should be prepared to give.

1 Corinthians 16:2 NKJV
2 On the first day of the week let each one of you lay something aside, storing up as he may prosper, that there be no collections when I come.

We need to be cheerful in our giving.

2 Corinthians 9:7 NKJV
7 So let each one give as he purposes in his heart, not grudgingly or of necessity; for God loves a cheerful giver.

Be secretive with yourself when giving to others.

Matthew 6:1–4 NKJV
1 “Take heed that you do not do your charitable deeds before men, to be seen by them. Otherwise you have no reward from your Father in heaven. 2 Therefore, when you do a charitable deed, do not sound a trumpet before you as the hypocrites do in the synagogues and in the streets, that they may have glory from men. Assuredly, I say to you, they have their reward. 3 But when you do a charitable deed, do not let your left hand know what your right hand is doing, 4 that your charitable deed may be in secret; and your Father who sees in secret will Himself reward you openly.

Don’t Judge the amount of your tithe or gift in comparison to others.

Mark 12:41–44 NKJV
41 Now Jesus sat opposite the treasury and saw how the people put money into the treasury. And many who were rich put in much. 42 Then one poor widow came and threw in two mites, which make a quadrans. 43 So He called His disciples to Himself and said to them, “Assuredly, I say to you that this poor widow has put in more than all those who have given to the treasury; 44 for they all put in out of their abundance, but she out of her poverty put in all that she had, her whole livelihood.”

Remember tithing is an act of faith!
