10 Commandments
10 Commandments
You Catholics, your Church is filled with, “Thou shalt nots!”
Change them into positives!
Don’t have other Gods! - Worship God.
Don’t use God’s name in vain - Use His name reverently, especially the name of the Christ, Jesus, for preaching and for worship.
Remember the sabbath day - Get to Mass.
Honor your father and mother - that’s a positive, and with a promise attached, that you may have a long life in the land the Lord your God is giving you.
Don’t murder - Be a life giver
Don’t commit adultery - love your spouse for God’s sake!
Don’t steal - Use what’s yours, ask God for what is lacking and help provide to others,
Don’t lie - Use your words and your bodies to communicate love and truth. Otherwise, stay silent
Don’t covet your neighbor’s house, goods, slave or wife or husband. You have your own, chill out, focus on Christ, and take care of your neighbor. Love them. Help them find their cat and stuff. And also, your neighbor lives next to you. If you screw them over, how will it not also ruin your life?
We look for signs
We look for signs
Christ Himself is the Temple
Christ Himself is the Temple
Adam
Adam
Filled with the holy Spirit
The priests could no longer minister because of the cloud, since the glory of the Lord had filled the house of God.
Crafted from the clay like a project
Eve built up too from the rib (word meaning Rafters)
Solomon
Solomon
Song of Songs Temple of his body. Song of Solomon 5:13–15 “His cheeks are like beds of spices yielding aromatic scents; his lips are lilies that drip flowing myrrh. His arms are rods of gold adorned with gems; His loins, a work of ivory covered with sapphires. His legs, pillars of alabaster, resting on golden pedestals. His appearance, like the Lebanon, imposing as the cedars.”
The most beautiful person
Like an apple tree among the trees of the woods, so is my lover among men. In his shadow I delight to sit, and his fruit is sweet to my taste.
High Priest
High Priest
Literally a little temple himself
For on his full-length robe was the whole world, and ancestral glories were carved on the four rows of stones, and your grandeur was on the crown upon his head.
Tremble before him, all the earth; the world will surely stand fast, never to be moved. Let the heavens be glad and the earth rejoice; let them say among the nations: The Lord is king. Let the sea and what fills it resound; let the plains be joyful and all that is in them! Then let all the trees of the forest exult before the Lord, who comes, who comes to rule the earth.
Joseph and the colored priestly robe
Temple in Jerusalem (summation of four/five covenants)
Adam, a new garden
Noah, an ark that saves
Abraham, contains the circumcised and those conceived under circumcision
Moses, contains the law (the ark) and the priesthood.
David, Built a house for his God by his house (Solomon)
Christ
Christ
a craftsman by trade.
A new Solomon, not like Herod.
What sign will you give? Destroy this temple and in three days rebuild it.
Christ Himself is the new law
He gives a new law and is a new law unto himself writing the law upon our hearts
Ezekiel 36:26–27 “I will give you a new heart, and a new spirit I will put within you. I will remove the heart of stone from your flesh and give you a heart of flesh. I will put my spirit within you so that you walk in my statutes, observe my ordinances, and keep them.”
He’s the new Adam
St. Paul says this.
Abraham, “before Abraham was I AM,”
He is the new Isaac.
Baptism, the new Noah, leads us through the waters of death and gives us the water of life, literally washed in His side.
We help Him build the body of Christ
We help Him build the body of Christ
1 Corinthians 6:19–20 (NABRE)
Do you not know that your body is a temple of the holy Spirit within you, whom you have from God, and that you are not your own? For you have been purchased at a price. Therefore glorify God in your body.
The Sign is Christ’s resurrection.
However, the sign that St. Paul preaches is the Cross. If you ever hear Christianity without the cross…you’re not in Christianity.
