Dealing with sin in the body.

Next, Paul will show us a glimpse into the future of what the world will look like under the rule of Jesus and His saints.
1 Corinthians 6:1 NASB95
1 Does any one of you, when he has a case against his neighbor, dare to go to law before the unrighteous and not before the saints?
Here Paul is scolding them about a way of life change that he is advocating they should handle with one another. Let's talk a little about how court systems were ran in those days.
1 Corinthians 6:2 NASB95
2 Or do you not know that the saints will judge the world? If the world is judged by you, are you not competent to constitute the smallest law courts?
Daniel 7:18 LEB
18 But the holy ones of the Most High will receive the kingdom, and they will take possession of the kingdom forever, forever and ever.’
Daniel 7:21–22 LEB
21 I continued watching, and this horn made war with the holy ones and it prevailed over them, 22 until the Ancient of Days came and gave judgment to the holy ones of the Most High; and the time arrived and the holy ones took possession of the kingdom.
Daniel 7:27 LEB
27 And the kingdom and the dominion and the greatness of the kingdoms under the whole heaven will be given to the nation of the holy ones of the Most High; his kingdom is an everlasting kingdom, and all the dominions will serve and obey him.’
Matthew 19:28 LEB
28 And Jesus said to them, “Truly I say to you that in the renewal of the world, when the Son of Man sits on his glorious throne, you who have followed me—you also will sit on twelve thrones judging the twelve tribes of Israel.
1 Corinthians 6:3 LEB
3 Do you not know that we will judge angels, not to mention ordinary matters?
There is not so much direct, but inference scripture here regarding how this will be handled. We see where the angels did not stay in their proper position.
----------> Jude 6
Jude 6 LEB
6 And the angels who did not keep to their own domain but deserted their proper dwelling place, he has kept in eternal bonds under deep gloom for the judgment of the great day,
1 Corinthians 6:4–6 LEB
4 Therefore, if you have courts with regard to ordinary matters, do you seat these despised people in the church? 5 I say this to your shame. So is there not anyone wise among you who will be able to render a decision between his brothers? 6 But brother goes to court with brother, and this before unbelievers!
Paul simply does not understand why there is not a person among the believers at Corinth who is unable to act as a wise judge. Can you imagine his disappointment? Here I have stayed with you, and trained you, and given to you the very thing you need to survive in my absence, but you still are not handling matters among yourselves.
1 Corinthians 6:7 LEB
7 Therefore it is already completely a loss for you that you have lawsuits with one another. Why not rather be wronged? Why not rather be defrauded?
Regardless of judging one another within the church, Paul is frustrated that the people are unable to live in unity. I can imagine to a man who is said to have become all things to all people, he is frustrated by the fact these people are not willing to lay aside their own desires and pride to be willing to be made fools to the wise.
8 On the contrary, you yourselves wrong and defraud. You do this even to your brethren.
9 Or do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived; neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor homosexuals,
10 nor thieves, nor the covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor swindlers, will inherit the kingdom of God.
κληρονομέω klēronomeō inherit (16x) to obtain ⇔ inherit v. — to obtain (after one’s own death); conceived of as gaining possession of something by legal right from someone as an heir after their death.
Matt 5:5; 19:29; 25:34; Mark 10:17; Luke 10:25; 18:18; 1 Cor 6:9–10; 15:50; Gal 5:21; Heb 1:4, 14; 6:12; 1 Pet 3:9; Rev 21:7
11 Such were some of you; but you were washed, but you were sanctified, but you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ and in the Spirit of our God.
This entire time he has been talking about being a right judge. Because of Jesus we have been justified.
to be justified v. — to be or become judicially vindicated as having complied with the requirements of the law (of God).
