A fact is defined as a thing that is known or proven to be true.
For example, 2 + 2 is four. That used to be an absolute fact, even though some question it today, 2 + 2 will always be four. Here is another example. Water can exist as a solid, liquid, or gas. Gravity is a fact. What goes up will come down!
There are many facts that confront us on a daily basis, things that are known and proven true, but there are six facts, the facts of life, that are absolutely critical to your future, and I want to examine those facts quickly this morning.

1. Fact #1: There Is One Holy God.

Proverbs 9:10 “The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom: And the knowledge of the holy is understanding.”
Leviticus 19:2 “Speak unto all the congregation of the children of Israel, and say unto them, Ye shall be holy: for I the Lord your God am holy.”
Psalm 14:1 “The fool hath said in his heart, There is no God. They are corrupt, they have done abominable works, There is none that doeth good.”
God exists. He exists in three persons. He is God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit, and that is the end of the story.
God is all-powerful, all-knowing, and above all else, God is holy. Where God is, sin is not.
God existed before time, and He exists outside of time. He cannot sin. He cannot look upon sin.
Matthew 27:46 “And about the ninth hour Jesus cried with a loud voice, saying, Eli, Eli, lama sabachthani? that is to say, My God, my God, why hast thou forsaken me?
God the Father could not even look upon God the Son that dark afternoon at Calvary as Jesus became my sin and your sin. As He was being crucified, the perfect relationship that existed before anything else was interrupted because the Son became sin, and the Father cannot look upon sin.
There is a God. He is the great I AM, and He is a holy God.

2. Fact #2: You Are A Sinner.

Romans 3:23 “For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;”
You have a serious problem. You are a sinner.
It is not you could be a sinner, or you might be a sinner. You are a sinner.
Romans 5:12 “Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned:”
Psalm 51:5 “Behold, I was shapen in iniquity; And in sin did my mother conceive me.”
Sin came into this world through Adam, and even as you were in your mother’s womb, you were in iniquity. You are a sinner, and God is holy.
Holiness and sin cannot coexist.
The Bible does not distinguish you as a little sinner or a big sinner. It does not matter how sweet grandma thinks you are, and I know Mrs. Geraldine thinks Justin is sweet to the bone, but Justin is not sweet. Justin is a sinner.
Matthew 15:19For out of the heart proceed evil thoughts, murders, adulteries, fornications, thefts, false witness, blasphemies:”
Except for the grace of God, you do not know the full extent of the evil lurking in your heart waiting to spring forth. The Bible is full of examples, such as Peter, David, Bathsheba, and Noah. You should never say that you would not do something because you do not know what is lurking in your heart.
All sin comes from the heart, not the organ that pumps your blood, from your inner being, from your intellect, senses, and emotions.
James 2:9–11 “But if ye have respect to persons, ye commit sin, and are convinced of the law as transgressors. For whosoever shall keep the whole law, and yet offend in one point, he is guilty of all. For he that said, Do not commit adultery, said also, Do not kill. Now if thou commit no adultery, yet if thou kill, thou art become a transgressor of the law.”
This passage in James tells us why there is no such thing as a little sinner. Usually, preachers just read James 2:10, but I thought it was important to show the whole context. If you commit one sin, you become a transgressor, a breaker of the law, and since you were conceived in iniquity, before you get slapped on the seat of knowledge in the delivery room, you are a sinner.

3. Fact #3: You Are Going To Die.

Romans 6:23 “For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.”
You are going to die because you are a sinner.
Every person in attendance and watching has a destiny with death. AS a matter of fact, God knows when you are going to die. The Bible says that are days were fashioned when there were yet none. That means, in God’s foreknowledge, He knows everything about you, including the date of your demise.
Job 8:9 “(For we are but of yesterday, and know nothing, Because our days upon earth are a shadow:)”
James 4:14 “Whereas ye know not what shall be on the morrow. For what is your life? It is even a vapour, that appeareth for a little time, and then vanisheth away.”
The Bible says our lives are like a vapor. Here one minute and gone the next.
Our days on earth are as a shadow. Here one minute, gone the next. You do not know when you are going to die, but God does. That is why salvation is such an urgent matter. Why would you put off getting saved until tomorrow when tomorrow never comes?

4. Fact #4: You Are Going To Be Judged.

Hebrews 9:27 “And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment:”
Because you are going to die, you are going to be judged.
Do you know why you are going to be judged? Because you are a sinner.
Do you know what is going to be judged? Your sin.
Every sin you have ever committed is recorded and will be judged.
Revelation 20:12 “And I saw the dead, small and great, stand before God; and the books were opened: and another book was opened, which is the book of life: and the dead were judged out of those things which were written in the books, according to their works.”
Matthew 12:36–37But I say unto you, That every idle word that men shall speak, they shall give account thereof in the day of judgment. For by thy words thou shalt be justified, and by thy words thou shalt be condemned.”
Remember. Fact #1 is that God is holy and all-knowing. It is no problem for Him to have all of your sins “written” down and committed to His memory. As a matter of fact, in your book, every sin you have committed, are committing, or will commit is recorded.
Colossians 2:14 “Blotting out the handwriting of ordinances that was against us, which was contrary to us, and took it out of the way, nailing it to his cross;”
Can you imagine every sin you ever committed being recorded and held against you? You are going to be judged.
Romans 14:12 “So then every one of us shall give account of himself to God.”
Your judgment is an absolute fact. There is no slipping by. You will either face Christ in judgment of your sins, or you will accept Christ’s offer to cover your sins.
Technically, your sins were judged on the Cross at Calvary.
Jesus died in your place as your sin. Jesus Christ was your vicarious substitute. He suffered for your sins in your place.
If you accept His work on your behalf, God will pardon you based upon that work; however, if you reject Christ, every sin you have ever committed or will ever commit will be judged in Hell forever.
Guilt is determined because you are a sinner. Punishment will be based upon what is written in your book including thoughts, words, deeds, and even things you did not do that you should have done.
Revelation 20:15 “And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire.”
To escape judgment, you must be holy, but you cannot be holy because you are a sinner. What are you going to do?

5. Fact #5: Your Only Hope Is Jesus Christ.

You are a sinner. You will be judged. You have no hope in yourself, but you do have hope in Jesus Christ.
John 14:6 “Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.”
Acts 4:12 “Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved.”
Jesus Christ is the way, the truth, and the life. In His name, you can be and will be saved from the judging of your sins. Jesus Christ, literally, took your place on the Cross. You should die for your sins, but He died for them, so you could live. Jesus became your sin and died for your sin to keep you out of Hell.
In Jesus Christ, you have hope. Without Jesus Christ, you have Hell.

6. Fact #6: You Must Choose Between Jesus And Judgment.

1 John 2:2 “And he is the propitiation for our sins: and not for ours only, but also for the sins of the whole world.”
In one of great biblical examples of God’s grace, your sins are covered, are not charged to you, until you are capable to make the decision to accept God’s pardon.
Jesus Christ has done for you all He can except make the choice to accept Him, and He cannot make that choice for you. If you want to avoid judgment and Hell, you must choose to obey and to submit yourself to Jesus Christ. You must accept the Gospel message.
What is the gospel message?
1 Corinthians 15:3–4“For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures:”
Christ died for your sins. He literally went through Hell on the Cross to keep you out of Hell. He died, and He was buried, but He is not dead today. Three days after His death, God the Father brought God the Son back to life and resurrected Him to His eternal glory.
The key to all of it is the resurrection of Jesus. If He were still in that tomb, there would be no decision that needed to be made, but since He is alive today, you must decide between judgment and Him.
Romans 10:9–10 “That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.”
I want everyone to listen closely, and I want to tell you like I used to tell my baseball players. I ant you to look at my eyes so I know you are listening.
(1) There is a God.
(2) You are a sinner.
(3) You are going to die.
(4) You are going to be judged.
(5) Your hope is Jesus Christ.
(6) You must choose Jesus or judgment because you will live forever in Heaven or Hell.
It sounds like a no-brainer. Come and choose Jesus today.
