Intro
the final lesson of the book
rehashing major themes one last time
bringing our place in God’s creation into perspective
Elihu
Elihu
Jehovah is God
a character that seemingly appears from nowhere
brings a challenge to every character on the mortal plane
that Job should be shut up, but also that Job’s friends are in the wrong
all of them have missed the more important parts of what has happened here
That none of them should be focused on their selves
they are meant to see God regardless of their circumstances
God in the Storm

Finally, Job gets his wish and has his conversation with God
Who are you that comes to me without understanding?
Despite all of that, Job is given a chance to make his argument
after all of his talk, Job has no answer to the almighty
how could you, as Job has already argued
Job got dangerously close to doing what God challenges him with
but given the opportunity, Job sees his place in the grand scheme of things and remains silent
Retribution
Retribution
Job for his understanding of his lack of understanding about God and his ways is commended and his friends rebuked
God calls them all to work on their relationship with him, to come together with Job once again
word for evil, denoting something of harm that comes from outside our understanding
all that Job had is repaid and all his family that is left returns and comforts him
through all of this, Job withstands the testing of God and Satan and is rewarded in the end
all of this, regardless of what he deserves
Application
Application
Good and Evil are not decided by my actions
nothing I do earns anything in the eyes of the almighty
we serve a God who is far beyond our understanding, who is above reproach, and most importantly, cares for us and desires a relationship with his creation
sometimes we will suffer and go through difficult things and we won’t get to know why that happens
Our savior went through all that we might and then some for our sake
he suffered in my place that I might walk with him and its important not to forget that
its easy to try to find things to blame for my circumstance and difficulty
its harder to accept that trouble will come regardless and that I might even be made better for it
that I was made for good by a good and merciful God and my life ought to reflect that no matter what comes
