One of life’s main lessons taught to young men and women in Middle in High School, whether indirectly or not, is the importance of relationships. No matter if it’s close friends, common acquaintances, fellow classmates, peer to teacher/staff or family, young people are learning to navigate their encounter with others through relationships.
You’re learning to draw near to them or push them away, you’re learning which relationships are worth keeping and which ones have run their course. Some relationships are difficult to navigate because along with relationships, you’re learning how to properly filter and express your emotions. There are times you feel extremely energized and ready to make things happen, times where you feel like doing nothing and want to be alone and countless other variances as well. Sometimes you experience these all at the same time, and for the most part your relationships are built based on how others respond to you and your expressed emotion.
Here’s the wrinkle, just as you are reacting and holding others accountable to your experiences so they are with you. At times this has proven challenging and for some relationships, detrimental to its continued existence (it ends them). I think it’s safe to say that we all want to be connected to someone that perfectly knew how to handle how we feel every single time right? News Flash! There is!!

Christ & Us

Acts 2:36–40 KJV 1900
Therefore let all the house of Israel know assuredly, that God hath made that same Jesus, whom ye have crucified, both Lord and Christ. Now when they heard this, they were pricked in their heart, and said unto Peter and to the rest of the apostles, Men and brethren, what shall we do? Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost. For the promise is unto you, and to your children, and to all that are afar off, even as many as the Lord our God shall call. And with many other words did he testify and exhort, saying, Save yourselves from this untoward generation.
