Deity of Christ
Deity of Christ
If Christ is only man, then I am an idolater. If he is very God, then the man who denies it is a blasphemer. There can be no union between those who hold his deity and those who deny it.

Did Jesus claim to be God while here on Earth?
Did Jesus claim to be God while here on Earth?
In Hebrew, the concept of deity is primarily expressed through the use of the noun אֵל (ʾēl, “god”) and, especially, its plural form אֱלֹהִים (ʾĕlōhîm, “gods”)
31-32
Then said Jesus to those Jews which believed on him, If ye continue in my word, then are ye my disciples indeed; And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.
Continuing in the word makes a person a disciple
Discipleship is the process of devoting oneself to a teacher to learn from and become more like them. For the Christian, this refers to the process of learning the teachings of Jesus and following after his example in obedience through the power of the Holy Spirit. Discipleship not only involves the process of becoming a disciple but of making other disciples through teaching and evangelism. Matthew 4:18–21
The saints prove their conversion by their perseverance, and that perseverance comes from a continual supply of divine grace to their souls.
The Candle, Volume 27, Sermon #1594 - Matthew 5:15, 16
Charles Spurgeon
And Jesus, walking by the sea of Galilee, saw two brethren, Simon called Peter, and Andrew his brother, casting a net into the sea: for they were fishers. And he saith unto them, Follow me, and I will make you fishers of men. And they straightway left their nets, and followed him. And going on from thence, he saw other two brethren, James the son of Zebedee, and John his brother, in a ship with Zebedee their father, mending their nets; and he called them.
John 8:32 (KJV 1900)
And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.
