Therefore, just as the church is subject to Christ, so let the wives be to their own husbands in everything.

But I want you to know that the head of every man is Christ, the head of woman is man, and the head of Christ is God.
On January 20, 1961, a clerk of the US Supreme Court held the large Fitzgerald family Bible as John F. Kennedy took the oath of office to become the nation’s 35th president.
Against a backdrop of deep snow and sunshine, more than twenty thousand people huddled in 20-degree temperatures on the east front of the Capitol to witness the event. Kennedy, having removed his topcoat and projecting both youth and vigor, delivered what has become a landmark inaugural address.
What many consider to be the most memorable and enduring section of the speech came towards the end when Kennedy called on all Americans to commit themselves to service and sacrifice:
“And so, my fellow Americans: ask not what your country can do for you – ask what you can do for your country.” He then continued by ...

Husbands Have a Sacrificial Love For Your Wife
Husbands don’t love your wife only for what she can do for you, BUT LOVE HER FOR WHAT YOU CAN DO FOR HER
Husbands don’t love your wife only for what she can do for you, BUT LOVE HER FOR WHAT YOU CAN DO FOR HER
Husbands, love your wives, just as Christ also loved the church and gave Himself for her,
Husbands, likewise, dwell with them with understanding, giving honor to the wife, as to the weaker vessel, and as being heirs together of the grace of life, that your prayers may not be hindered.

that He might sanctify and cleanse her with the washing of water by the word,
Jesus answered, “Most assuredly, I say to you, unless one is born of water and the Spirit, he cannot enter the kingdom of God.
that He might present her to Himself a glorious church, not having spot or wrinkle or any such thing, but that she should be holy and without blemish.

Husbands Have a Caring Love For Your Wife
So husbands ought to love their own wives as their own bodies; he who loves his wife loves himself.
For no one ever hated his own flesh, but nourishes and cherishes it, just as the Lord does the church.
For we are members of His body, of His flesh and of His bones.
And Adam said:
“This is now bone of my bones
And flesh of my flesh;
She shall be called Woman,
Because she was taken out of Man.”

Two are better than one,
Because they have a good reward for their labor.
For if they fall, one will lift up his companion.
But woe to him who is alone when he falls,
For he has no one to help him up.
And He Himself gave some to be apostles, some prophets, some evangelists, and some pastors and teachers,
“For this reason a man shall leave his father and mother and be joined to his wife, and the two shall become one flesh.”
Therefore a man shall leave his father and mother and be joined to his wife, and they shall become one flesh.
This is a great mystery, but I speak concerning Christ and the church.
The mystery is this; this has never been said before in holy Scripture, never in the Old Testament that marriage is to follow the pattern of Christ’s relationship to the church. Marriage is sacred
The church is one with Christ, that’s the mystery. The church is one with Christ, and that’s the picture of marriage. It is sacred by virtue of its association with the relationship between Christ and His church.
Nevertheless let each one of you in particular so love his own wife as himself, and let the wife see that she respects her husband.
that they admonish the young women to love their husbands, to love their children,
to be discreet, chaste, homemakers, good, obedient to their own husbands, that the word of God may not be blasphemed.
“For the Lord God of Israel says
That He hates divorce,
For it covers one’s garment with violence,”
Says the Lord of hosts.
Therefore take heed to your spirit,
That you do not deal treacherously.”
Why does Malachi mention a “garment” and “violence?” In modern Western society, a man puts an engagement ring on a woman’s finger to propose marriage, but in ancient Israel, he placed a corner of his garment over her (Ezek. 16:8; Ruth 3:9). If
If a man divorces his wife, instead of having a garment that symbolized love, he had a garment that symbolized violence. He wrenched apart that which God said is one; by his infidelity, he made the marriage bed a place of violence.
