If you remember in Ex.35-40 we’ll be looking at the construction of the Tabernacle as well as the various articles for the Tabernacle.…
And the Priestly Garments for those who minister in the Tabernacle…
So this section of the book involves & revolves around the Work that will be done for the Lord - It’s all about Israel’s obedience to the Lord.
So far we’ve looked at several things pertaining to Israel’s Obedience:
In Chapter 35, Israel’s Obedience Involved: Their Priority, Giving, and the Holy Spirit.
Last Friday, we saw God fill certain men with His Spirit for specific crafts to build the tabernacle.
at the end of the day Zechariah says not by might nor by power but by my spirit says the Lord.

That brings us to Vs. 2 of Chapter 36 and our study for today as we continue to look at Israel’s Obedience and it involves, Sufficiency. Read…
The Title of today’s message is: Beyond Enough: When God Stirs The Heart
Because as you saw in our quick reading of today’s scripture we see Israel’s Obedience was enough to do what God has called them to do, which is to build the tabernacle.
Anytime there’s a work of the Holy Spirit, there will always be sufficiency.
1. Israel’s Obedience Involves Sufficiency Vs. 2-7
1. Israel’s Obedience Involves Sufficiency Vs. 2-7
The Skilled workers began the task of making the sanctuary, but the people brought so much material that Moses had to stop them from bringing more!
Notice, again, the emphasis is on the willingness of the people to participate in the giving of labor and materials.
God didn’t force them, they weren’t persuaded, it wasn’t a sales tactic.
It was simply an opportunity for the people of God to give to God and they were WILLING!
They were so willing that they were enthusiastic to give that Moses had to command them to stop giving, it says they were restrained.
And as a result there in the middle of Vs. 7 it was sufficient - It was what they needed, more than enough.
Remember this is still connected to the previous chapter. Turn to…
Exodus 35:4 “4 And Moses spoke to all the congregation of the children of Israel, saying, “This is the thing which the Lord commanded, saying:”
Exodus 35:20–22 “20 And all the congregation of the children of Israel departed from the presence of Moses. 21 Then everyone came whose heart was stirred, and everyone whose spirit was willing, and they brought the Lord’s offering for the work of the tabernacle of meeting, for all its service, and for the holy garments. 22 They came, both men and women, as many as had a willing heart, and brought earrings and nose rings, rings and necklaces, all jewelry of gold, that is, every man who made an offering of gold to the Lord.”
So why was their giving sufficient? Because God stirred their hearts. It was a work of God a work of the Spirit.
When it’s a work of the Spirit not the flesh it will be sufficient… God will provide… in fact God can do…
20 Now to Him who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us,
When it’s a simple & natural work of the Spirit stirring our hearts… The natural response is God doing a great work.
5 “I am the vine, you are the branches. He who abides in Me, and I in him, bears much fruit; for without Me you can do nothing.

APPLICATION: About how we can’t do anything without Him, especially the things of God.
