Women Marked by FAITH!
How many women can you name from the bible?
How would these women changed history if they didn’t exist?
Bad Babes of the Bible
Eve, Delilah, and Jezebel may stand out
Women Marked by Faith
Mary the mother of Jesus,
Mary and Martha,
Mary Magdalene whom had seven demons cast out of her by Jesus, and
the mother of John the Baptist Elizabeth.
Deborah the Judge,
Hannah the mother of Samuel, or
Rahab the prostitute from Jericho?
Hebrews 11:29–40 NLT
29 It was by faith that the people of Israel went right through the Red Sea as though they were on dry ground. But when the Egyptians tried to follow, they were all drowned. 30 It was by faith that the people of Israel marched around Jericho for seven days, and the walls came crashing down. 31 It was by faith that Rahab the prostitute was not destroyed with the people in her city who refused to obey God. For she had given a friendly welcome to the spies. 32 How much more do I need to say? It would take too long to recount the stories of the faith of Gideon, Barak, Samson, Jephthah, David, Samuel, and all the prophets. 33 By faith these people overthrew kingdoms, ruled with justice, and received what God had promised them. They shut the mouths of lions, 34 quenched the flames of fire, and escaped death by the edge of the sword. Their weakness was turned to strength. They became strong in battle and put whole armies to flight. 35 Women received their loved ones back again from death. But others were tortured, refusing to turn from God in order to be set free. They placed their hope in a better life after the resurrection. 36 Some were jeered at, and their backs were cut open with whips. Others were chained in prisons. 37 Some died by stoning, some were sawed in half, and others were killed with the sword. Some went about wearing skins of sheep and goats, destitute and oppressed and mistreated. 38 They were too good for this world, wandering over deserts and mountains, hiding in caves and holes in the ground. 39 All these people earned a good reputation because of their faith, yet none of them received all that God had promised. 40 For God had something better in mind for us, so that they would not reach perfection without us.
Hebrews 12:1–3 NLT
1 Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a huge crowd of witnesses to the life of faith, let us strip off every weight that slows us down, especially the sin that so easily trips us up. And let us run with endurance the race God has set before us. 2 We do this by keeping our eyes on Jesus, the champion who initiates and perfects our faith. Because of the joy awaiting him, he endured the cross, disregarding its shame. Now he is seated in the place of honor beside God’s throne. 3 Think of all the hostility he endured from sinful people; then you won’t become weary and give up.
Mary the mother of Jesus did not give up
Even at the possibility of being rejected by Joseph and being an outcast—she believed the angel and embraced the Holy Encounter and we hear her say...
Luke 1:37–38 NLT
37 For the word of God will never fail.” 38 Mary responded, “I am the Lord’s servant. May everything you have said about me come true.” And then the angel left her.
Where are you Today?
Have you heard the Word of the Lord?
Have you read His Promises?
Is He Your Champion?
Psalm 119:89–90 NLT
89 Your eternal word, O Lord, stands firm in heaven. 90 Your faithfulness extends to every generation, as enduring as the earth you created.
Isaiah 55:11 NLT
11 It is the same with my word. I send it out, and it always produces fruit. It will accomplish all I want it to, and it will prosper everywhere I send it.
MARY’S PRAYER...
Lord, I am your servant. May I hear everything you have said to me and about me come true for I desire to obey your word and be a light in dark places. Let my life be Marked by Faith. In Jesus Name amen.
Hope Story: Week 1 and 2
4 Rescue Bridges 1. My situation is my assignment
2. My tribe
3. My praying
ACTION STEPS -pray for a new hunger and compassion for all the lost around you and ask God to show you who to pray for. -start a rescue journal of who you pray for and what you pray for along with the experience surrounding the situation. COMPASSION FOR TODAY? Matthew 9:36 Jesus compassion for people
COMPASSION… no, it is more like other words that start with the letter “C”.
Critical
Cynical
Conceited (self absorbed)
WHERE IS THE PASSION?
we think we are untouchable and that rules don’t really apply as we get on social media and can say anything we want without any responsibility.
We are all on a voyage and we think we are invincible like the TITANIC!
Two boards posted in Liverpool posted: SAVED.      LOST. JOHN 5:11-12 “…IF you don’t have Jesus you are lost” Proverbs 21:11 “11 If you punish a mocker, the simpleminded become wise; if you instruct the wise, they will be all the wiser.”
Luke 19:10 “10 For the Son of Man came to seek and save those who are lost.”
Ephesians 2:12 “12 In those days you were living apart from Christ. You were excluded from citizenship among the people of Israel, and you did not know the covenant promises God had made to them. You lived in this world without God and without hope.”
2 Thessalonians 1:9 “9 They will be punished with eternal destruction, forever separated from the Lord and from his glorious power.”
Jude 23 “23 Rescue others by snatching them from the flames of judgment. Show mercy to still others, but do so with great caution, hating the sins that contaminate their lives.” 4 Rescue Bridges 1. My situation is my assignment
2. My tribe
3. My praying.
Praying is the starting place in sharing your Hope Story Don’t let someone go to a Christless grave. My Path Prayer -Pray WITH a lost PERSON They usually never say “No,” for they’re hungry for a front row with God.
-Pray FOR them 3-OPEN PRAYER Colossians 4:3–4
“3 Pray for us, too, that God will give us many opportunities to speak about his mysterious plan concerning Christ. That is why I am here in chains. 4 Pray that I will proclaim this message as clearly as I should.”
Lord open the DOOR Lord open their HEART Lord open my MOUTH Why, we often don’t share is a four letter word “fear”
2 Timothy 1:7 “7 For God has not given us a spirit of fear and timidity, but of power, love, and self-discipline.”
We were not created in FEAR. Paul said about himself… 1 Corinthians 2:3–5
“3 I came to you in weakness—timid and trembling. 4 And my message and my preaching were very plain. Rather than using clever and persuasive speeches, I relied only on the power of the Holy Spirit. 5 I did this so you would trust not in human wisdom but in the power of God.” EXAMPLE: The Glove Factor Powerless glove Vs Power filled glove
(I’m the Glove and God is the Power…He gives My Story Power) MEMORY VERSE 2 Timothy 1:7 “7 For God has not given us a spirit of fear and timidity, but of power, love, and self-discipline.”
“GOD has not given ME…a spirit of fear, but power, love, and a sound-mind.“ LIFE-JACKETS Over 300 (328) died in their life jackets—not because the Titanic sank. They died because those in boats would not help them. Is that us? Attending our safe churches. Singing our safe church songs. Ignoring those who are not like us. Lord help me to paddle back!
