State of emergency
Governor declares a State of Emergency when he/she believes a disaster has occurred or may be imminent that is severe enough to require State aid
or
DEAD END as lacking opportunities especially for advancement or lacking an exit
Anyone who legally operate vehicles must be able to identify a dead-end sign as a prerequisite to be on the road.
But the question I propose today is “At what point do you make a U-TRUN to go into the direction that God has for you?”
Psalms 51
It is David…
The Shepard
The Fearless Warrior who faced Goliath
He has killed ten thousand to Saul’s thousands
He eventually becomes the King of Israel
The very same David is an Adulterous and Murder
—————
Before we get to Psalm 51; 2 Samuel 11 David and Bathsheba
David Encounters Temptation
One evening that David arose from his bed and walked on the roof of the king’s house. And from the roof he saw a woman bathing, and the woman was
very beautiful.
Satan knows what makes you
David send for Batheshba who’s married to Uriah the Hittite who’s away war against the Ammonites.
He laid with her and she conceived a child To cover up the scandal,
David has has Joab bring Uriah back to spend time with his wife.
Uriah being loyal to Israel refuses to visit his wife. So David orders Uriah to be sent back to war and to be places on the front line. Bathesheba ends up morning he husband…..
2 Samuel 11:27  - KJV
And when the mourning was past, David sent and fetched her to his house, and she became his wife, and bare him a son. But the thing that David had done displeased the Lord.
What do you do, when the thing you have done displeases the lord?
Without the context of 1 Sam 11th chapter, we can not feel the weight of David’s plea for forgiveness in Psalms 51.
Psalm 51
David Says…
1 Have mercy upon me, O God, according to thy lovingkindness: according unto the multitude of thy tender mercies blot out my transgressions.
David cries to God for forgiveness because He knows that God is gracious and compassionate
Proverbs 28:13 He that covereth his sins shall not prosper: But whoso confesseth and forsaketh them shall have mercy.
Have Mercy on me - Be gracious, show favor, do not give me what I deserve
A. God has patience with us.
B. When you come into the knowing of who christ is, you can no longer willing sin and go on as if he hasn’t called you out.
C. If any man be in christ he is a New creature
D. The devil will tell you that there is no hope for you and that God is finished with you, but that is a lie.
John 3:16–17 ESV
“For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but in order that the world might be saved through him.
1 Corinthians 13:4–8 ESV
Love is patient and kind; love does not envy or boast; it is not arrogant or rude. It does not insist on its own way; it is not irritable or resentful; it does not rejoice at wrongdoing, but rejoices with the truth. Love bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things. Love never ends. As for prophecies, they will pass away; as for tongues, they will cease; as for knowledge, it will pass away.
A. We must have confidence that God still loves us.
B. The same thing that you told God you would never do again, your back again.
Psalm 51:2–3 KJV 1900
Wash me throughly from mine iniquity, And cleanse me from my sin. For I acknowledge my transgressions: And my sin is ever before me.
In V2……
Wash me – sin is a stain that needs to be laundered, a defilement of dirt needing to be removed by a thorough washing. David pleads for the Lord to wash him completely.
The song says….
Jesus paid it all, all to Him I owe; Sin had left a crimson stain, He washed it white as snow.
Murdered - He took the life of Uriah.
Committed adultery -
Thief - took another mans wife
Lier -
God will not accept an excuse
When we uncover it, God covers it.
David says Wash Me
Romans 6 :1
What shall we say then? Shall we continue in sin, that grace may abound?
God forbid. How shall we, that are dead to sin, live any longer therein?
Know ye not, that so many of us as were baptized into Jesus Christ were baptized into his death?
Therefore we are buried with him by baptism into death: that like as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life.
Cleanse me – is a temple term for religious, ritual cleansing. Some see a connection with the cleansing of a leper. Sin is seen as an infectious disease that spreads and kills if it is not cured. This is how David felt. This was where David stood before the Lord
Matthew 15:19–20 ESV
For out of the heart come evil thoughts, murder, adultery, sexual immorality, theft, false witness, slander. These are what defile a person. But to eat with unwashed hands does not defile anyone.”
Psalm 51:7–10 ESV
Purge me with hyssop, and I shall be clean; wash me, and I shall be whiter than snow. Let me hear joy and gladness; let the bones that you have broken rejoice. Hide your face from my sins, and blot out all my iniquities. Create in me a clean heart, O God, and renew a right spirit within me.
We are so prone to excuse our sin God forgave him.
God did wash his heart clean, strengthen his spirit and create something new within.
Galatians 5:22–23 ESV
But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control; against such things there is no law.
If it is clean, it will produce fruit pleasing unto God
Psalm 107
O give thanks unto the Lord, for he is good: for his mercy endureth for ever.
Let the redeemed of the Lord say so, whom he hath redeemed from the hand of the enemy;
——
2Co 5:17
Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation.  The old has passed away; behold, the new has come.
2Co 5:18
All this is from God, who through Christ reconciled us to himself and gave us the ministry of reconciliation;
2Co 5:19
that is, in Christ God was reconciling the world to himself, not counting their trespasses against them, and entrusting to us the message of reconciliation.
2Co 5:20
Therefore, we are ambassadors for Christ, God making his appeal through us. We implore you on behalf of Christ, be reconciled to God.
Yet he was a man after God’s own heart
