The Galatians are going astray because they are adding Judaism to the gospel of faith in Christ, observing in a material sense the sabbath and circumcision, together with the other works which they received in accordance with the law. Disturbed by these tendencies Paul writes this letter, wishing to put them right and call them back from Judaism, in order that they may preserve faith in Christ alone, and receive from Christ the hope of salvation and of his promises, because no one is saved by the works of the law. So, in order to show that what they are adding is wrong, he wishes to confirm [the truth of] his gospel.
1. Paul’s Testimony-v1
1. Paul’s Testimony-v1
Paul starts off by letting them know that he is called of God and not of man. Paul is an Apostle An Apostle is one who is sent with a comisission and a witness of the resurrected Christ. The Original twelve apostles were calle dout by Jesus. Paul is considered an apostle because of his calling on the road to Damascus when he saw the ressurected Christ. Acts 9:15–16 “But the Lord said unto him, Go thy way: for he is a chosen vessel unto me, to bear my name before the Gentiles, and kings, and the children of Israel: For I will shew him how great things he must suffer for my name’s sake.”
Paul is doing this to let all the nay sayers know that, he is commisioned by the most high God! He is letitng all the Judaizing missionaries from palenstine know. They knew excatly who he used to be, ithas also been said they mocked him. Doesnt that sound alot like today? You trust Christ as your savior, you wanna start doing things different, but there is satan using those people who used to know who you were. You know why? because he wants you to quit. Paul had to deal with the same things back then that we do today. Dont be afraid to share exaclty what God has done for you!
Jesus Called Paul on the road to Damsacus, and the church at Antioch sent him out. Acts 13:1–2 “Now there were in the church that was at Antioch certain prophets and teachers; as Barnabas, and Simeon that was called Niger, and Lucius of Cyrene, and Manaen, which had been brought up with Herod the tetrarch, and Saul. As they ministered to the Lord, and fasted, the Holy Ghost said, Separate me Barnabas and Saul for the work whereunto I have called them.”

The Local Church is the vehicle in which the Gospel will be spread. This was Paul’s primary Focus he went around planting seperate independent local churches. Notices it says to the churches in Galatia. Not Church at Galatia.
Paul spent a lot of time planting churches all over Galatia often being persecuted and beaten for what God has called him to do, thankfully we dont have to deal with that in this day and age. Planting a church isnt for the faint of heart.
He constantly labored and prayed over these churches all throughout the new testament paul of says how he is praying or caring for the churches.
The men who pioneered our great North American continent took over a wilderness and conquered it. They went out with their axes, cutting down trees, building houses and then planting corn, potatoes, other vegetables and grain. You know, when they planted, they didn’t go to bed and sleep until time for the harvest. They fought encroachment from the wilderness from the day they planted their corn and the rest of their crops until they harvested them and had them safely in their log barns.
The wilderness encroaches on the fruitful field, and unless there is constant fighting off of this encroachment, there will be little or no harvest.
I think it is exactly the same with the Church.…
This is to remind us that we must fight for what we have. Our little field of God’s planting must have the necessary weapons and plenty of watchmen out there to drive off the crows and all sorts of creatures, to say nothing of the little insects that destroy the crops. We have to keep after them. We must keep our field healthy, and there is only one way to do that, and that is to keep true to the Word of God. We must constantly go back to the grass roots and get the Word into the Church.

3. Paul’s Message V3
3. Paul’s Message V3
Grace. Paul is starting off his letter with the message of his whole ministry: The Gospel of Jesus Christ. These people are being lied to thinking that for some reason or some how their unrighteousness will produce righteousness. epehesians 2:8-9”8 For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: 9 Not of works, lest any man should boast”
Grace is :
Gods
Riches
At
Christ’s
Expense
Nothing anyone can do will merit salvation , for it is by grace you are saved. Paul starts of by letting them know, those folks are lying to you.
3. Paul’s Shift v.6
3. Paul’s Shift v.6
We see an abrupt shift here in Paul’s letter, typically he will start to give thanks for somehting, but he addressess their apostasy. Their falling away from Christ, he uses the word removed. when you remove something yu take it away and he says here so soon removed. Thats like alot of us Christians, we will stick with it for a while then instantly we will see something flashy and run away.
Left off at verse 8
