“Do not think that I came to destroy the Law or the Prophets. I did not come to destroy but to fulfill.
For assuredly, I say to you, till heaven and earth pass away, one jot or one tittle will by no means pass from the law till all is fulfilled.
Whoever therefore breaks one of the least of these commandments, and teaches men so, shall be called least in the kingdom of heaven; but whoever does and teaches them, he shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven.
For I say to you, that unless your righteousness exceeds the righteousness of the scribes and Pharisees, you will by no means enter the kingdom of heaven.
“You have heard that it was said to those of old, ‘You shall not murder, and whoever murders will be in danger of the judgment.’
But I say to you that whoever is angry with his brother without a cause shall be in danger of the judgment. And whoever says to his brother, ‘Raca!’ shall be in danger of the council. But whoever says, ‘You fool!’ shall be in danger of hell fire.
Deadly Emotions
Deadly Emotions
Emotions that are triggered by lies bring death with them.
Emotions that are triggered by lies bring death with them.
Understand [this], my beloved brethren. Let every man be quick to hear [a ready listener], slow to speak, slow to take offense and to get angry.
God instructs us to make sure our emotion (in this case anger) isn’t leading us. but first we must listen with the intent of gaining understanding
God instructs us to make sure our emotion (in this case anger) isn’t leading us. but first we must listen with the intent of gaining understanding
Secondly our response shouldn’t be quick but after careful consideration and any offense should be dealt with before we jump to anger.
For man’s anger does not promote the righteousness God [wishes and requires].
Be not quick in your spirit to become angry, for anger lodges in the heart of fools.
Anger based off lies will hide itself in our hearts and eat away at us slowly.

Where do wars and fights come from among you? Do they not come from your desires for pleasure that war in your members?
You lust and do not have. You murder and covet and cannot obtain. You fight and war. Yet you do not have because you do not ask.
Anger that is based off lies comes from our desires, from things we want and can’t have.

The Example of Cain
The Example of Cain
And again, she bore his brother Abel. Now Abel was a keeper of sheep, and Cain a worker of the ground.
In the course of time Cain brought to the Lord an offering of the fruit of the ground,
and Abel also brought of the firstborn of his flock and of their fat portions. And the Lord had regard for Abel and his offering,
but for Cain and his offering he had no regard. So Cain was very angry, and his face fell.
The Lord said to Cain, “Why are you angry, and why has your face fallen?
If you do well, will you not be accepted? And if you do not do well, sin is crouching at the door. Its desire is contrary to you, but you must rule over it.”
Cain spoke to Abel his brother. And when they were in the field, Cain rose up against his brother Abel and killed him.
Cain had to face his anger. He was hurt and felt rejected. Instead of confronting the lies he was believing.
The first thing that happened, his face fell. A physical response to death entering the soul of a man.
God confronted him and asked
“Why are you angry, and why has your face fallen?”
“Why are you angry, and why has your face fallen?”
God pointed to his behavior and his need for acceptance. When our behavior leads us to a place of anger, we are faced with a crossroads. sin is right there. What are we going to do?
God instructed Cain to rule over it, or master it.
Do not allow anger to lead your life.
Let all bitterness, wrath, anger, clamor, and evil speaking be put away from you, with all malice.
And be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God in Christ forgave you.
