Revelation 1:3 “Blessed is the one who reads aloud the words of this prophecy, and blessed are those who hear it and take to heart what is written in it, because the time is near.”

End of the World?

We are going to dive into the last book of the Bible. Some people are scared to dive in they think by reading it they will revil to themselves when Jesus will come back or unlock a code or something. Matthew 24:36 ““But about that day or hour no one knows, not even the angels in heaven, nor the Son, but only the Father.” Says right here only God knows when that day will come. We cannot predict when it will happen neither can anyone else. We should be excited that Jesus is coming back! It is the ultimate victory! I understand nobody wants to just think about he world ending or even death. It’s even hard to just talk about we have all experinced it though it plain stinks to be honest. We do know one thing though John 11:25–26 “Jesus said to her, “I am the resurrection and the life. The one who believes in me will live, even though they die; and whoever lives by believing in me will never die. Do you believe this?”” Luke 24:6–7 “He is not here; he has risen! Remember how he told you, while he was still with you in Galilee: ‘The Son of Man must be delivered over to the hands of sinners, be crucified and on the third day be raised again.’ ”” The day is drawing near! Jesus defeated death and God sent Him to show us that we don’t have to fear it! We must believe. Ok glad we got that out of the way! Now to the into of Revolation.

The Time is Near!

Revelation 1:1–2 NIV
The revelation from Jesus Christ, which God gave him to show his servants what must soon take place. He made it known by sending his angel to his servant John, who testifies to everything he saw—that is, the word of God and the testimony of Jesus Christ.
The book is called The Revelation of Jesus. There is no S at the end of it haha I know I’ve said it this way. This is a vision that came from Jesus which God gave Him. John is the one receiving this message. He was instructed to write it down and deliver it to the seven churchs in Asia as the christians there were experiencing persecution. Just like we have been learning on Wednesdays it helps when you recieve encouragement from fellow believers. Servant! It is used twice in the first part of this book! They refrence this because that is who John is supposed to deliver the message to. God’s servants remember last week it takes a surrendered heart to be a servant of the Lord. 1 Samuel 3:10 “The Lord came and stood there, calling as at the other times, “Samuel! Samuel!” Then Samuel said, “Speak, for your servant is listening.”” John had to make himself available to receieve this message. It is the same for us we must be a servant to the Lord if we want to recieve the message.
Revelation 1:3 “Blessed is the one who reads aloud the words of this prophecy, and blessed are those who hear it and take to heart what is written in it, because the time is near.”
Everyone say the Time is Near. Everyone loves to be blessed! Here is a written blessing right here! Remember it wasn’t always material items people would get blessed with. John was delivering a message to persecuted Christians. Persecuted to the point they would have to decide! Jeusus or death. We are blessed right now to not have experinced this type of persecution. But the time could be near. John wanted to include this to give courage and stregnth to the reader. They would be delivering a message from God to Gods people. Surrendering themselves to Gods will not letting fear overcome them Psalm 34:1, 3-4 KJVI will bless the Lord at all times: His praise shall continually be in my mouth My soul shall make her boast in the Lord: The humble shall hear thereof, and be glad. 3 O magnify the Lord with me, And let us exalt his name together. 4 I sought the Lord, and he heard me, And delivered me from all my fears. The time for those churchs was fearful they were being challenged by the Romans. Literally passed a law to kill christians. Whoever was delivering this mesage had to believe in Jesus. Now the people recieving the message would be blessed and recieve encouragement stregnth peace love and any other fruit of Gods labor. They would also need to keep it on their heart and not fall from it when their choice had to be made. Proverbs 3:1 “My son, do not forget my teaching, but keep my commands in your heart,” There are many examoles about the commands from God we are supposed to keep on our heart at all times! and when we do God continues to bless us. The Time is near!!! What time who is near what is near there are a ton questions that can go into this. think about the time they are in. They are being persecuted being hunted chased there is a time coming for them. What shall they do? Maybe the time is to draw near to God. What ways can we draw near to God. First we got to repent Mark 1:15 ““The time has come,” he said. “The kingdom of God has come near. Repent and believe the good news!”” Jesus has been talking about it since the time He walked this very earth. When we sin we are what.... Hidden from God we don’t have that direct line to Him! Isaiah 59:2 “But your iniquities have separated you from your God; your sins have hidden his face from you, so that he will not hear.” After we repent God will then be able to hear us and we can draw near to Him. James 5:8 “” Come near to God and he will come near to you. Wash your hands, you sinners, and purify your hearts, you double-minded. we must draw near to God study seek Him in prayer Luke 9:24For whoever wants to save their life will lose it, but whoever loses their life for me will save it. Surrender yourself give yourself up to the Lord because the time is near! There is no time to waste not only because Jesus is coming but the time is now for you to step in your calling and that perfect life He wants you to live.
