RECAP OF GRACE
Source of Grace comes only from God
The receiving of this Grace is Faith in our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ
For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God, not a result of works, so that no one may boast.
To grow in Grace as we saw last week, means to be taught by this Grace.
For the grace of God has appeared, bringing salvation for all people, training us to renounce ungodliness and worldly passions, and to live self-controlled, upright, and godly lives in the present age,

The Real and The Fake
The Real and The Fake
For I am not ashamed of the gospel, for it is the power of God for salvation to everyone who believes, to the Jew first and also to the Greek.
What are the 3 Fake Gospels to Look out For
Hyper-Prosperity Gospel
Hyper-Prosperity Gospel
This Gospel teaches that if you have enough faith, you can “speak” things into existence like great wealth and perfect health
Not a sin to have wealth and biblical financial principals are true
When you make the Grace of God about stuff, acquisition, things that make you look good that’s a fake Gospel
“When Christians start driving the best cars, living in the best homes, wearing the best clothes, sinners will see the goodness of God and repent.”
“When Christians start driving the best cars, living in the best homes, wearing the best clothes, sinners will see the goodness of God and repent.”
For what does it profit a man to gain the whole world and forfeit his soul? For what can a man give in return for his soul?
The Gospel of Works
The Gospel of Works
All these lessons teach us that, because of God’s Grace, and in light of what Christ has done for us, we should have a desire to live a life doing good.
Do you want to be shown, you foolish person, that faith apart from works is useless?
Genuine Salvation produces good works, but good works will never produce salvation.
The Grace Abusing Gospel
The Grace Abusing Gospel
Just because we have been saved by Grace through Faith in Jesus does not mean we received a Get out of Hell Card to go on living a sinful life
What shall we say then? Are we to continue in sin that grace may abound? By no means! How can we who died to sin still live in it?
Jesus did not eat with sinner and tax collectors because he wanted to appear inclusive, tolerant and accepting.
He ate with them to call them to a changed and fruitful life, to die to self and live for Him.
His call is a transformation of life not affirmation of identity.
Extent and Limits of God’s Grace
Extent and Limits of God’s Grace
The extent that God went for us to have Grace is amazing
“For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life.
For our sake he made him to be sin who knew no sin, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God.
Limits of God’s Grace
because they exchanged the truth about God for a lie and worshiped and served the creature rather than the Creator, who is blessed forever! Amen. For this reason God gave them up to dishonorable passions. For their women exchanged natural relations for those that are contrary to nature; and the men likewise gave up natural relations with women and were consumed with passion for one another, men committing shameless acts with men and receiving in themselves the due penalty for their error. And since they did not see fit to acknowledge God, God gave them up to a debased mind to do what ought not to be done.

and he died for all, that those who live might no longer live for themselves but for him who for their sake died and was raised. From now on, therefore, we regard no one according to the flesh. Even though we once regarded Christ according to the flesh, we regard him thus no longer. Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away; behold, the new has come.
Grace transforms us from our old ways into new creations in Christ
The ongoing process of sanctification is through the work and teaching of grace
