Worship: 1,000 names or PEACE
Message: 3 focuses of prayer for today.
Context first.
Proverbs 20:29 HCSB
The glory of young men is their strength, and the splendor of old men is gray hair.
John 8:12 HCSB
Then Jesus spoke to them again: “I am the light of the world. Anyone who follows Me will never walk in the darkness but will have the light of life.”
John 8:16 HCSB
And if I do judge, My judgment is true, because I am not alone, but I and the Father who sent Me judge together.
Ephesians 5:11–14 HCSB
Don’t participate in the fruitless works of darkness, but instead expose them. For it is shameful even to mention what is done by them in secret. Everything exposed by the light is made clear, for what makes everything clear is light. Therefore it is said: Get up, sleeper, and rise up from the dead, and the Messiah will shine on you.
Psalm 110:1 HCSB
This is the declaration of the Lord to my Lord: “Sit at My right hand until I make Your enemies Your footstool.”
Psalm 110:5–6 HCSB
The Lord is at Your right hand; He will crush kings on the day of His anger. He will judge the nations, heaping up corpses; He will crush leaders over the entire world.
Hebrews 10:13 HCSB
He is now waiting until His enemies are made His footstool.
Jesus is full of wisdom, all-knowing and will Judge the sins of all who reject His salvation.
Revelation 1:12–18 HCSB
I turned to see whose voice it was that spoke to me. When I turned I saw seven gold lampstands, and among the lampstands was One like the Son of Man, dressed in a long robe and with a gold sash wrapped around His chest. His head and hair were white like wool—white as snow —and His eyes like a fiery flame. His feet were like fine bronze as it is fired in a furnace, and His voice like the sound of cascading waters. He had seven stars in His right hand; a sharp double-edged sword came from His mouth, and His face was shining like the sun at midday. When I saw Him, I fell at His feet like a dead man. He laid His right hand on me and said, “Don’t be afraid! I am the First and the Last, and the Living One. I was dead, but look—I am alive forever and ever, and I hold the keys of death and Hades.
Prayer Focus 1 God is in our midst.
All present in the middle of the Churches
In the heart of the believer
John 14:23 HCSB
Jesus answered, “If anyone loves Me, he will keep My word. My Father will love him, and We will come to him and make Our home with him.
Active in the Great Commission
Matthew 28:18–20 HCSB
Then Jesus came near and said to them, “All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth. Go, therefore, and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe everything I have commanded you. And remember, I am with you always, to the end of the age.”
Application:
When we acknowledge God’s presence and we surrender to His leading, we experience a joy and peace overflows within us.
Start by praying I know you see me right now, when I am anxious and when I am celebrating you always see me.
Teach me Lord to trust your presence.
Worship: Highlands
Pray where you are: Where you are praise God for His presence here. Invite His presence here or ask God to make his presence known to you.
Prayer Focus 2: God is all-knowing and Just in His righteous judgement.
Wisdom is seen in His like the son of man, with white hair and beard
Eyes are blazing and penetrate the heart to uncover our sins and expose us by his righteousness.
The robe and sash are the clothes of a high priest who declared the sins to the people, established the penalty for sin and then would see that the sin was paid.
The fiery bronze feet: Assyrian Kings
Jesus is all-knowing, all righteous is coming to judge those who reject Him. He see past the exterior of our lives and he see the heart and actions when know one else is looking.
An eternal judgment will be delivered to all those who do not know Jesus as their savior. We don’t worship him for that!
We worship Him because he has made a way of escape for those who cry out to Him
Romans 8:1–4 HCSB
Therefore, no condemnation now exists for those in Christ Jesus, because the Spirit’s law of life in Christ Jesus has set you free from the law of sin and of death. What the law could not do since it was limited by the flesh, God did. He condemned sin in the flesh by sending His own Son in flesh like ours under sin’s domain, and as a sin offering, in order that the law’s requirement would be accomplished in us who do not walk according to the flesh but according to the Spirit.
Application:
Our Savior went through the suffering that sin brings on us.
Our Savior died so that the penalty of sin could be paid, His resurrection allowed to have life in him
Worship: Real Thing, Worthy Worthy
Pray with someone: Jesus, you have made salvation possible through your works, help us to believe in you and your works and increase our faith.
Prayer Focus 3 Christ Has the Keys to set Captives Free.
John fell as though dead at the holiness of Jesus, in a vision. This is surrender
While being all present, and all knowing and having all authority to judge all the nations (you and me) Jesus says,
Revelation 1:17–18 HCSB
When I saw Him, I fell at His feet like a dead man. He laid His right hand on me and said, “Don’t be afraid! I am the First and the Last, and the Living One. I was dead, but look—I am alive forever and ever, and I hold the keys of death and Hades.
With all that power and authority Jesus’s desire is to do a prison break!
Luke 4:18 HCSB
The Spirit of the Lord is on Me, because He has anointed Me to preach good news to the poor. He has sent Me to proclaim freedom to the captives and recovery of sight to the blind, to set free the oppressed,
2 Peter 3:9 HCSB
The Lord does not delay His promise, as some understand delay, but is patient with you, not wanting any to perish but all to come to repentance.
Application:
God is with us and uses his power to rescue people. We are the ones He is going to use. We need to go to those cell doors and start using the keys He has given us
His word is Key
Prayer is Key
Sharing our faith is Key
