Can these Bones Live?
Can these Bones Live?
Ezekiel 37:3 (KJV 1900)
And he said unto me, Son of man, can these bones live? And I answered, O Lord God, thou knowest.
Intro; Of course God is speaking to Ezekiel here asking about Israel. But because many in the church are saying the church is dead I’d like to ask the question:
Can these bones live?
Which takes me to ;
Mark 8:36–38
36 For what shall it profit a man, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul?
What is the value of your soul? Of eternity? Have you considered eternity?
Job 2:4-6 satin’s answer,
4 And Satan answered the LORD, and said, Skin for skin, yea, all that a man hath will he give for his life.
5 But put forth thine hand now, and touch his bone and his flesh, and he will curse thee to thy face.
6 And the LORD said unto Satan, Behold, he is in thine hand; but save his life.
Your soul is that part of man that will live on into eternity. The Mind, the will, and the emotions these are the part of man that is eternal. They can be conformed to this world or be transformed by the spirit of All Mighty God! Another words they have the ability to change!
In the beginning God created man in his own image.Forming him from the dust of the ground. He breathed into his nostrils the breath of life and man became a living soul!
Body, soul, and spirit God/Man
This is what separate's us from the animals.
But when Adam and Eve sinned in the garden of Eden, the spirit of God left the spirit of man causing death to enter into man. From that point on man was no longer seeking Gods will in his life but his own will.
His own thoughts, doing his own thing!
Following after his Fleshly desires, and his souls desires Mind will and emotions and his spirits desires. This is why the bible say’s the heart of man is deceptive and wicked, It lead’s man by his own desires.
The natural body shall die and pass away.
Christians do receive a spiritual body just as Jesus had after his resurrection. (flesh and bone not flesh and blood) after Jesus rose from the dead he walked thru doors and walls and said to Thomas feel me touch me handle me and yet he still ate with his disciples.
Paul said: 1 Corinthians 15:50-53
50 Now this I say, brethren, that flesh and blood cannot inherit the kingdom of God; neither doth corruption inherit incorruption.
51 Behold, I shew you a mystery; We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed,
52 In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed.
53 For this corruptible must put on incorruption, and this mortal must put on immortality
Text; in Mark 8
37 Or what shall a man give in exchange for his soul?
Is their anything man can give in exchange for his soul? Only one thing will be accepted for a man soul, that is faith in the blood of Jesus and Gods redemptive plan!
Rom. 3:10-12 Man’s condition
10 As it is written, There is none righteous, no, not one:
11 There is none that understandeth, there is none that seeketh after God.
12 They are all gone out of the way, they are together become unprofitable; there is none that doeth good, no, not one.
Rom. 3: 22-26
22 Even the righteousness of God which is by faith of Jesus Christ unto all and upon all them that believe: for there is no difference:
23 For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;
24 Being justified freely by his grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus:
25 Whom God hath set forth to be a propitiation ( substitute) through faith in his blood, to declare his righteousness for the remission of sins that are past, through the forbearance of God;
26 To declare, I say, at this time his righteousness: that he might be just, and the justifier of him which believeth in Jesus
text; Mark 8
38 Whosoever therefore shall be ashamed of me and of my words in this adulterous and sinful generation; of him also shall the Son of man be ashamed, when he cometh in the glory of his Father with the holy angels.
Jesus is coming in the clouds of heaven.
The 2 angels at his accention said;
“ why do you stand their looking up this same Jesus shall come again in like manner.”
Jesus said;
“If I go away I will come again and receive you to myself.”
His promise is clear he is coming again.
When he comes what will he say to you ?
Well done thou faithful servant enter In? or
Depart from me you worker of inequity.
Will he be proud of your work here on earth? or will he hang his head in shame because of what you did with the free Gift God gave you?
The question is Can these bones Live?
Do you feel dead, cold, numb, in your heart?
Or are you on fire for the lord today as the first day you recieved him?
A fire radiates out it doesn't just look pretty!
It promotes a hunger for more. And unless you contain it. It will spread everywhere it finds some old dead wood it comes in contact with!
I wonder if our relatives, neighbors, friends, and people we meet, can feel that fire burning in our soul!
