The Context of The Bible
In the beginning God created this world and he created adam and eve on this earth near somewhere in the middle east, he placed them in a garden and they were called to rule the way God like him. The image of God was title was only given to kings in the near ancient world. The were royal priests, they were kings and queens of creation called to steward and rule creation like him. Eden was a temple because it was where God dwelled with his people. The later tabernacle and solomons temple were reflects and symbols of eden because that was where God dwelled with his people. They sinned and through there sin, they were exiled and you will see this is a pattern of isreal God dwells with them they sin and worship another Gods they get exiled by babylon or asriyan.
God wanted to restore his relationship with humanity, he wants to restore creation, he wants to dwell with his people. God then calls individuals who will be vechiles of his redemation plan because he knew that had to send his son who was a true royal preist us all. He promises to abhram that through his descedenat a son will bless the nations, through david the son will have a eternal kingdom, through isiah the son will be a servant who will take the sins of people and forgive peoples sins, through daniel he will be a son of man where all tribles, language and tongue will worship him.
Jesus fulfills all the phophecies and promises of the old testament, He sheds his blood for the sins of humanity and offers restoration to all humanity to there rightful place as royal presits who will once again rule a world like this with him. Then jesus now waits on his throne until all people tribles and languages of heard of this good news before he returns to judge the non belivers for there unbelief and reward the belivers for there perservance and hard work.
In the present, as we wait we in exile!

Therefore, since the promise of entering his rest still stands, let us be careful that none of you be found to have fallen short of it. For we also have had the good news proclaimed to us, just as they did; but the message they heard was of no value to them, because they did not share the faith of those who obeyed. Now we who have believed enter that rest, just as God has said,
“So I declared on oath in my anger,
‘They shall never enter my rest.’ ”
And yet his works have been finished since the creation of the world. For somewhere he has spoken about the seventh day in these words: “On the seventh day God rested from all his works.” And again in the passage above he says, “They shall never enter my rest.”
Therefore since it still remains for some to enter that rest, and since those who formerly had the good news proclaimed to them did not go in because of their disobedience, God again set a certain day, calling it “Today.” This he did when a long time later he spoke through David, as in the passage already quoted:
“Today, if you hear his voice,
do not harden your hearts.”

Scripture
Scripture
For if Joshua had given them rest, God would not have spoken later about another day. There remains, then, a Sabbath-rest for the people of God; for anyone who enters God’s rest also rests from their works, just as God did from his. Let us, therefore, make every effort to enter that rest, so that no one will perish by following their example of disobedience.
For the word of God is alive and active. Sharper than any double-edged sword, it penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow; it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart. Nothing in all creation is hidden from God’s sight. Everything is uncovered and laid bare before the eyes of him to whom we must give account.
