You are called to Serve
You are called to Serve
Servant = Gk. diakonos
Deacon or servant
One of the ways that you are called to serve is to share
“If you put these things before the brothers”
These things are what you have learned
“The words of the faith and of the good doctrine that you have followed”
You are called to Train
You are called to Train
“Train (gymnazo) yourself for godliness”
Just like you would train for anything else, e.g., training to run a marathon doesn’t happen over night…it takes hard work.
“We toil and strive”
Training is valuable
“Godliness is of value in every way”
Training is hopeful
At the end of marathon training…you hope to run a marathon
“We have our hope set on the living God, who is the Savior of all people, especially of those who believe.”
You are called to Teach
You are called to Teach
“Command and teach these things”
One of the most powerful ways to teach is to SHOW
Even though you might be young, you are still called to be an example.
Speech
Conduct
Love
Faith
Purity
Reading Scripture
Exhortation
Teaching
You are called to Use Your Gifts
You are called to Use Your Gifts
When you were created, you were given unique gifts
When you were saved, your gifts were redeemed to be used of God
Practice those gifts
Practice makes perfect
Watch yourself…check your form
NEVER GIVE UP
