Wednesday Night Message
Rom 12:1-2 March 13, 2024
Ro 12:1 ¶ I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service. Ro 12:2 And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.
Two important factors our mind and heart before God.
What causes me to have the wrong mindset?
A carnal mind is the enemyh of God
Your lusts(strong desire)simply what you want, when you want it and how you want it
Not taking up your cross and dying daily. Not crucifying the flesh in its passions an desires

1. You must be disciplined to change your mindset.

a.   Definition of discipline – a control gained by enforcing obedience or order; SELF-CONTROL

b.  Definition of disciplined -  marked by or possessing discipline; a disciplined mind

                                                            i.     1 Corinthians 9:27 (KJV) But I keep under my body, and bring it into subjection: lest that by any means, when I have preached to others, I myself should be a castaway.
ii.     Galatians 2:20 (KJV) I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me

c.   How do I discipline myself? Deny my flesh of self-pleasure which s is against God. Being obedient to te word of God. Prayer, fasting, reading your word, coming to church, living the preached word

Discipline is the secret of godliness. You must learn to discipline yourself for the purpose of godliness.
Jay E. Adams
The great need in the Christian life is for self-discipline. This is not something that happens to you in a meeting; you have got to do it!
David Martyn Lloyd-Jones
If God has singled you out to be a special object of his grace you may expect him to honour you with stricter discipline and greater suffering than less favoured ones are called upon to endure.
A. W. Tozer
The Lexham Bible Dictionary (Hannah)
                                                            i.     1 Cor 6:19 Do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit within you, which you have from God? You are not your own; 1 Cor 6:20 you were bought with a price. So glorify God in your body.
ii.     Galatians 5:24 (KJV) And they that are Christ's have crucified the flesh with the affections and lusts.
                                                       iii.     Ephesians 4:22 (KJV) That ye put off concerning the former conversation the old man, which is corrupt according to the deceitful lusts;
iv.     Colossians 3:5 (KJV) Mortify therefore your members which are upon the earth; fornication, uncleanness, inordinate affection, evil concupiscence, and covetousness, which is idolatry:
                                                         v.     Colossians 3:10 (KJV) And have put on the new man, which is renewed in knowledge after the image of him that created him:

d.  What is your mindset? It’s how you think. It’s how you process your situations. We sometimes think in patterns there are 2 kinds of mindsets thinkers: Methodical, Rash. some of us are methodical thinker, rash thinker. These thought patterns are bad when they override the Holy Ghost

                                                            i.     Methodical - done according to a systematic or established form of procedure. "a methodical approach to the evaluation of computer systems (of a person) orderly or systematic in thought or behavior.

1.   When you are methodical you never give space for the Holy Ghost to speak to you because you have established your way of doings things, and you will not move from it’

2.   Your actions/responses are based on what you have established as this is what works for me because of your past experiences.

ii.     Rash - displaying or proceeding from a lack of careful consideration of the possible consequences of an action.

e.   How should you process your situations? By the spirit of God by the word of God

                                                            i.     Romans 8:7 Because the carnal mind is enmity against God: for it is not subject to the law of God, neither indeed can be
ii.     Ro 8:14 For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God. Romans 10:3  For they being ignorant of God's righteousness, and going about to establish their own righteousness, have not submitted themselves unto the righteousness of God.

1.   This means you are being led by your emotions not God. You are doing what you wanna do.

                                                       iii.

f.     What should your mindset be? As the mind of Christ

                                                            i.     Philippians 2:5 (KJV) Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus:
ii.     1 Corinthians 2:16 (KJV) For who hath known the mind of the Lord, that he may instruct him? But we have the mind of Christ.

2. True praise changes your mindset.

a. When you come into the house of the Lord You must: forget your problems and focus on God. You must yield yourself fully to the presence of God and what He wants to do.

3. Line up your mindset!

a.   Be not conformed to this world but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind

b.  Matthew 16:24 Then said Jesus unto his disciples, If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow me.

c.  Philippians 4:7 And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus. 4:8 Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things.

d.  2 Corinthians 10:5 (KJV) Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ;

Heart Attack (heart)
A heart attack occurs when an artery that sends blood and oxygen to the heart is blocked. A heart attack occurs when the flow of blood to the heart is severely reduced or blocked Fatty, cholesterol-containing deposits build up over time, forming plaques in the heart's arteries. If a plaque ruptures, a blood clot can form. The clot can block arteries, causing a heart attack. During a heart attack, a lack of blood flow causes the tissue in the heart muscle to die. A lack of blood flow can damage or destroy part of the heart muscle.

A heart attack is also called a myocardial infarction.
Prompt treatment is needed for a heart attack to prevent death. Call 911 or emergency medical help if you think you might be having a heart attack.
Symptoms
Symptoms of a heart attack vary. Some people have mild symptoms. Others have severe symptoms. Some people have no symptoms.
Common heart attack symptoms include:
Chest pain that may feel like pressure, tightness, pain, squeezing or aching
Stroke (the mind)
A stroke, sometimes called a brain attack, occurs when something blocks blood supply to part of the brain or when a blood vessel in the brain bursts.
In either case, parts of the brain become damaged or die. A stroke can cause lasting brain damage, long-term disability, or even death.
Learn about the health conditions and lifestyle habits that can increase your risk for stroke.
What happens in the brain during a stroke?
The brain controls our movements, stores our memories, and is the source of our thoughts, emotions, and language. The brain also controls many functions of the body, like breathing and digestion.
To work properly, your brain needs oxygen. Your arteries deliver oxygen-rich blood to all parts of your brain. If something happens to block the flow of blood, brain cells start to die within minutes, because they can’t get oxygen. This causes a stroke.
Learn more about the signs and symptoms of stroke.
Quick treatment is critical for stroke
A stroke is a serious medical condition that requires emergency care. Act F.A.S.T. Call 9-1-1 right away if you or someone you are with shows any signs of a stroke.
