I Want Gods Help

When you look at this journey called life we see that Independence is something that everyone wants. Everyone wants to be independent, and we as a people have preached it for so long that I’m independent and I don’t need nobody. Or I’m independent and grown and can’t nobody tell me nothing. Nobody wants help everyone thinks they can do it on their own and we have adapted this mindset in the church. As christians we have adopted this independent mindset where we are Trusting in ourselves rather than trusting God. We have the mindset of the song by Frank Sinatra I did it my way. We have the Burger King Mentality of having it our way. But the Bible says there is a Way that Seems Right but the end thereof is Destruction. Are you on self destruction or are you doing things God way? When you choose to be Independent and try to rely on your own ability you are setting yourself up for Self Destruction.

The Late Myles Munroe Said it like this “ You were not designed to live life without the designer” In this life we are not suppose to do it by ourselves. God is here to help us and guide us and keep us. In this life we can’t be independent. However we must be Dependent on him. And when we are dependent on Him, He will Help us. For God tells us that we can Cast all our cares on him for he cares for us. He tells us that we can look to the hills from whence cometh our help. The bible tells us That he once was young but now old and he has never seen the righteous forsaken nor seed beg for bed. I Just want you to know when you Do it God’s way you have help. I don’t know about you but I just need 5or6 people to Say Lord I Want Your Help. I don’t want to be Independent but Lord I Want Your HELP!!!

It was only one verse of scripture read but I want to reference and point out a few things in this Psalms, Give my Three Points and I promise I’ll be out your way.

When we look here at Psalms 84 just to give some background, we see that this was a Psalm written from the Sons of Korah. If you study Korah you will find out that They were a people in Numbers 16 that rebelled against God and started mess among the people to turn them against Moses and Aaron. This happened and the Lord God took them out. So my mind began to wonder why would Korah be writing a psalm if God took them out. Then I learned in the 26 chapter that God didn’t take the Sons of Korah out. So This made me to believe that The Sons of Korah understood who to give praise to because God didn’t wipe them out because of what their Parents did.

So Korah is writing this psalm out of thanks and adoration for the Lords Mercy.

In Psalms 84 it Gives us a Journey. And my Brothers and Sisters I believe the psalm writers from this psalm understood what it meant to be on a Journey and on this Journey you want Gods help. It’s not something you want to do on your own but With God help it comes with things that man can’t Give you.

We have a Journey here and the psalamist says in Psalms 84:5

Psalm 84:5 NLT

What joy for those whose strength comes from the Lord, who have set their minds on a pilgrimage to Jerusalem.

In other Words this Journey that we are on as christians should be a Happy Journey a Joyous Journey an Estactic Journey. The Journey may not always be the best but as a christian even in the midst of what I’m facing I understand that on this Journey of Life I have to be happy. No matter what stage of life I am in I have learned to be content and trust God. There is a reason Why I am Happy…… The reason why I am in happy if you haven’t closed your bible of turned off your app in the Text it Says in the KJV Blessed Which is means happy are those who strength comes from the Lord. Okay You missed it. The bible Gives me the Reason to be Estactic, Elated and Excited. The Text tells me that blessings come to those who find strength from God and God alone.

So Be encouraged today to know that In life and on this Journey of Life that your strength doesn’t come from man, it doesn’t come from yourself. But It Comes from God. The songwriter puts it like this you are my strength, Strength like no other. It Reaches to me. God is the JOY and THE STRENGTH of my Life. Is God Your Strength Just Look at your Neighbor and ask them Is HE Your Strength.

Additionally I’m happy because the text Goes on to tell us that the Psalmist went through the Valley of Baca Which is known as the Valley of Weeping. This Place of Baca is known to be a dry place However even going through this Place called baca but they still continue to press and give God what is due to Him.

This is another reason why we need God’s Help is because We can’t change the condition or climate we are in control or allow it to constrain us from the Commandment on our Lives…..… Whew That was good I think I’ll say it Again.

Church Family, We can’t change the condition or climate we are in control or allow it to constrain us from the Commandment on our Lives.

What is Our commandment, It Is to praise and worship God. And I don’t know about you but I won’t Let My Position or Placement of where I am determine how I will Praise God.

I Will Bless The Lord At All Times and His Praises Shall Continually Be in My Mouth

Clap your Hands all ye people and Shout unto God with a Voice of Triumph.

I’ve got a Right , Reason, and Responsibility to Praise The Lord.

Not only That but the Text Teaches us that Even the Midst of What is you are in God can turn the situation around for you because you continued to Praise Him and keep your faith in Him.

So This is why I want Gods Help Because on This Journey of Life he will Cause me to be Happy and not only that but he will keep me and Turn things around for me even when it seems bad God is still working for me. He is working For me because I continue to believe and have faith and remain faithful.

Not only that brothers and sisters But we learn in verses 8-9 another reason why we should want Gods help and that is, That God will intervene on our behalf and Some of us today can truly say that while on this Journey The Lord has had to intervene in some situations in our life. Can I get a few witnesses today who can Give God praise for Intervening on your behalf…..…

Lastly Before we get into our points we see in verse 10 the Psalmist Writes That one day in your courts in better than 1000 any where else, and that I would rather be a doorkeeper in the house of the Lord than live in tents of wickedness.

Church family in my short time of living I found out something. I found out that We the people are the church. And as the Church we make up the institutions. But we are living in a day now where people are bashing the institution saying we don’t need to come to church. Well My bible tells me to Forsake not the assembly of the Saints. My bible also tells me better is one day in your courts than 1000 elsewhere.

I don’t know about you but I Love the church meaning Gods People and I Love the Institution of the church. Something happens and takes place when you Get into the House of the Lord. I understand now when the saints would If i could just make it to the house of the Lord. They understood that Everything they needed was in the house they realized that 1 day in the house was better than 1000 anywhere else. They knew healing was in the house, they knew breakthrough was in the house…………

Everything You need is in the house of the Lord.

So in the Journey I want Gods Help because he will strengthen us , He will intervene for us and Whatever we need is in the house of the Lord.

Brothers and Sisters Contrary to popular belief I want Gods help. Many are trying to make it on their own but The Older saints would sing a song and simply say I can’t make this journey alone. While on this Journey Church family God will Grant us with some things. I have 3 points and I Promise I’ll Be out your way.

My first Point on why I want Gods help is because He gives Illumination and Protection. It says it Right there in the text that Lord God is a sun and shield.

Lets look at this when I think about the sun it reminds me of illumination which is another word for Light. Without the Sun being our light then the World would be in darkness. Thats how people are that Don’t want Gods Help But I want his Help because I need Him be the Sun and Illumination in my Life, So That when I walk and go through things I Know i Have his enlighten power. So when I am Facing issues I know God is my Sun and with him being my Sun he will uplift me, and increase my energy. I Thank God for Being My Sun. Cause Dark days will Rise but The Lord is My Light and My Salvation Whom Shall I Fear.

Also Church Family He gives me Protection the bible says that not only is God our Sun but he is our Shield. I Thank God that he is our shield and he will protect us. God protects us from all evil he shields and protects us from the things that are coming our way.

Thats Why No Weapon formed against me shall prosper. Thats why yea though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death I will fear no evil. For though are with me thy rod and thy staff protect me.

Thats why I can say God is my Refuge and my strength a very present help in trouble.

Just look at somebody and tell them I have a protection plan.

And I Just want to know is there anybody in the room today that they know God to be a protecter.

God Gives us Illumination and Protection. My second point on Why i want Gods help is because he gives us Grace (Favor) and he gives us glory . It in Verse 11 Psalms 84:11

Psalm 84:11 NLT

For the Lord God is our sun and our shield. He gives us grace and glory. The Lord will withhold no good thing from those who do what is right.

We all know Grace is receiving something that we don’t deserve. When you want Gods Help he will favour you with his Grace. Cause if the truth be told we know we haven’t done everything right but God still was gracious and Favor us in some situation when we should’ve been wiped out. I just need 5 people and I’ll make 6 that can be honest with me and say I didn’t deserve but I thank God for his Grace and Favor on my Life. Because if it wasn’t for his Grace I don’t know where I would be. I made it thus Far by the grace of God. The Saints would Line a Hymn Amazing Grace how sweet the sound and one of my Favorite Verses is Was Grace that brought me thus far and Grace will lead me on. Okay maybe you didn’t catch it there but if you been at open door for a period time you know Pastor would bust out with By the Grace of the Lord I have come a long wayyy…

I don’t know about y'all but I thank him for His Grace and His Favor.

Not only that but he gives us glory. I Want the Lords Glory. With Gods Glory Lives can be changed, people can be delivered and set free if you have the Glory of God in your life.

Lastly My Brothers and Sisters and Im closing. I Want Gods Help Because he Gives Illumination and Protection, He gives Grace (favor) and Glory but Lastly he gives us Satisfaction.

The Text tells us no Good thing will he withhold from them who walk uprightly. The Lord wants to satisfy us but there is a condition in order to get satisfaction. You must Walk Uprightly.

What does it mean to walk uprightly. What it means is you must follow his Word and want his Help. And I’m So glad to tell you today that if you do these things no Good thing Will he Withhold from you. The Lord God will give you and grant you things if you continue to walk uprightly. This does not mean you have a Spiritual Visa Card and can get an endless supply of material blessings. The promised goodness if more than prosperity. This goodness reaches far beneath the surface of our lives and gives us the good things we need to live a life that glorifies Him. God’s goodness, His love is poured out in our lives and He gives up the things that are good for us.

This goodness is given because you are lined up with his Word and walking uprightly. NO Good thing will he withhold. And thats all I came to tell you this morning is to keep the faith and continue to walk uprightly. People will see the goodness of God on your life and they are going to want know how you keep getting blessing after blessing and all you have to say is No Good thing will he Withhold from them who walk uprightly.

How do you have peace with everything going on around you?

How did your school get paid?

How did you get the Job and didn’t meet any of the Qualification?
