There are many who are called but a few are chosen, the meaning this is there is a lot people that start the way of Christ, but a few finishes it.
Is no sufficient like, many say: Believe in Jesus and you will be saved, that is the first step you have to remain in the word of Jesus, obeying his commandments and living according it, you will know the true and the true will be make you free.
This promise translates us directly to the Genesis, when God forbid our ancestors eat of the three of knowledge: but of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil you shall not eat, for in the day that you eat of it you shall die.”
When they did no trust in God and eat of this three, they knew the good and the evil, and they die. They lose the state of grace and where unable to choose only the good, they were able to choose the bad, so they lose they freedom.
Because the freedom is no the possibility of chose between the good and the bad, but the capacity to choose what is good and to act on that.
Jesus promises to restore the freedom, and make them free, giving the grace that they can chose what lead them to haven.
1. To be free we have to recognize that we are slaves.
This poor Jews ware as proud as blind, they say that they have not been enslaves, but they were slaves in Egypt, slaves in Babylon, slaves from the Greeks, and slaves of the Roman and slave of their sins and they say that they are free, nor physically neither spiritually, they are in both sides’ slaves.
"Amen, amen, I say to you, everyone who commits sin is a slave of sin.
That is the consequence of the sin it destroys our liberty, our freedom, and if we really want to be free, we have to identify in which areas, we are no free and beg Jesus for his help.
Like the famous 12 steps of the A.A.: We admitted that we were powerless in the face of alcohol, that our lives had become ungovernable.
What stole your freedom: the wine, the drug, the lust, the anger, the depression, the internet.
Only with Jesus you can recover your self-control: with the gift of the: Fortitude, that denotes a firmness of mind in doing good and in avoiding evil, particularly when it is difficult or dangerous to do so, and the confidence to overcome all obstacles, even deadly ones, by virtue of the assurance of everlasting life.
Summarize, by the original sin our Fathers lost the freedom, Jesus restores our freedom, strength our liberty to choose what lead us to God. But to be free, we have to see what chains make me slave and cut it with the grace of God trough the sacraments.
For freedom Christ has set us free; stand fast therefore, and do not submit again to a yoke of slavery. Gal
