Mark 11:1–11 NKJV
1 Now when they drew near Jerusalem, to Bethphage and Bethany, at the Mount of Olives, He sent two of His disciples; 2 and He said to them, “Go into the village opposite you; and as soon as you have entered it you will find a colt tied, on which no one has sat. Loose it and bring it. 3 And if anyone says to you, ‘Why are you doing this?’ say, ‘The Lord has need of it,’ and immediately he will send it here.” 4 So they went their way, and found the colt tied by the door outside on the street, and they loosed it. 5 But some of those who stood there said to them, “What are you doing, loosing the colt?” 6 And they spoke to them just as Jesus had commanded. So they let them go. 7 Then they brought the colt to Jesus and threw their clothes on it, and He sat on it. 8 And many spread their clothes on the road, and others cut down leafy branches from the trees and spread them on the road. 9 Then those who went before and those who followed cried out, saying: “Hosanna! ‘Blessed is He who comes in the name of the Lord!’ 10 Blessed is the kingdom of our father David That comes in the name of the Lord! Hosanna in the highest!” 11 And Jesus went into Jerusalem and into the temple. So when He had looked around at all things, as the hour was already late, He went out to Bethany with the twelve.

1. The Lord sends them in a pair of two. (The power of spiritual fellowship.)

Mark 11:2 NKJV
2 and He said to them, “Go into the village opposite you; and as soon as you have entered it you will find a colt tied, on which no one has sat. Loose it and bring it.
He sent Them two by two jut like He did when He sent them to preach. Mark 6:77 And He called the twelve to Himself, and began to send them out two by two, and gave them power over unclean spirits.”
This passage teaches us that ministry was not intended to be done alone. We where intended to do this alone.
We are in the-process of training several for the ministry of leadership and preaching. inevitably someone will start the process and get in a hurry. these 12 disciples where ready for what was about to happen.
they where about to crown a king.
these boys where ready to take their places in the cabinet of the king, they had no idea they where about too but not in the way that they think.
that's the way the Lord works, He does what we thought he would do, but not the way we thought he would do it.
they had no idea that in five days Jesus was going to the cross.
they had no idea how important their fellow disciples would be.
on top of that the principle is that a thing be established by the mouth of two or three witnesses. Deuteronomy 19:15 “15 “One witness shall not rise against a man concerning any iniquity or any sin that he commits; by the mouth of two or three witnesses the matter shall be established.”

2. The Lord Jesus, Teaches us Holiness in His obedience to the Law.

In verse two when He refers to “a colt on which no one has sat.” is obeying a law that says sacred things and Holy things are not the same. I am not going to read through those passages for the sake of time but they are (Numbers 19:2; Deuteronomy 21:3; 1 Samuel 6:7). These verses are included at the top of your hand out as well for you to look up later.
We are called to Holiness as a people.
Hebrews 12:14 NKJV
14 Pursue peace with all people, and holiness, without which no one will see the Lord:
1 Peter 2:9 NKJV
9 But you are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, His own special people, that you may proclaim the praises of Him who called you out of darkness into His marvelous light;
in this case the colt was separated, not used for other purposes.
This is why people used to dress up for Church; this is why certain things where not open on Sunday, I don’t know that we can go back to the life we perceive existed in some far away time.
I will tell you this, long before holiness left the Church it left the family.
this is a thing that needs to be reclaimed, your family time.
then the Church time.
as you reclaim your family time you will understand what it means to be separated,
Date night
Family Night
Family service
Family Church time.
I believe that as we restore these things. We will began to allow the Lord to set our morals on God’s idea of morality.
Look we all have fallen into being like the world:
We watch things we shouldn't.
We talk in ways we shouldn’t.
and the list goes on.
you don’t need me to go on. The Holy Spirit has been talking to you. you know what God has said to you in the past. You don’t need it to make the list of these notes.
you need rather to let the Spirit of the living God to soften your heart and your schedule and obey God.
Holiness is not just in the old testament
Jesus Fulfills the image of the victorious king. (Zechariah 9:9 “9 “Rejoice greatly, O daughter of Zion! Shout, O daughter of Jerusalem! Behold, your King is coming to you; He is just and having salvation, Lowly and riding on a donkey, A colt, the foal of a donkey.” )

3. The people praise Him.

Mark 11:9–10 NKJV
9 Then those who went before and those who followed cried out, saying: “Hosanna! ‘Blessed is He who comes in the name of the Lord!’ 10 Blessed is the kingdom of our father David That comes in the name of the Lord! Hosanna in the highest!”
Hosanna means please save!
Psalm 18:25–26 NKJV
25 With the merciful You will show Yourself merciful; With a blameless man You will show Yourself blameless; 26 With the pure You will show Yourself pure; And with the devious You will show Yourself shrewd.
Leviticus 23:40 NKJV
40 And you shall take for yourselves on the first day the fruit of beautiful trees, branches of palm trees, the boughs of leafy trees, and willows of the brook; and you shall rejoice before the Lord your God for seven days.
We know that the palm branch is also a symbol of Jewish nationalism.
they nay have been praising him for their own ungodly reasons. I know I have done that.
I dosen’t matter where the praise starts, what matters is where it ends!
