Isaiah 6

Isaiah 6:1–10 ESV
1 In the year that King Uzziah died I saw the Lord sitting upon a throne, high and lifted up; and the train of his robe filled the temple. 2 Above him stood the seraphim. Each had six wings: with two he covered his face, and with two he covered his feet, and with two he flew. 3 And one called to another and said: “Holy, holy, holy is the Lord of hosts; the whole earth is full of his glory!” 4 And the foundations of the thresholds shook at the voice of him who called, and the house was filled with smoke. 5 And I said: “Woe is me! For I am lost; for I am a man of unclean lips, and I dwell in the midst of a people of unclean lips; for my eyes have seen the King, the Lord of hosts!” 6 Then one of the seraphim flew to me, having in his hand a burning coal that he had taken with tongs from the altar. 7 And he touched my mouth and said: “Behold, this has touched your lips; your guilt is taken away, and your sin atoned for.” 8 And I heard the voice of the Lord saying, “Whom shall I send, and who will go for us?” Then I said, “Here I am! Send me.” 9 And he said, “Go, and say to this people: “ ‘Keep on hearing, but do not understand; keep on seeing, but do not perceive.’ 10 Make the heart of this people dull, and their ears heavy, and blind their eyes; lest they see with their eyes, and hear with their ears, and understand with their hearts, and turn and be healed.”
Bit of a weird message. It’s repeated in Jesus’ ministry when he teaches in Parables.
The parable of the sower ends with the disciples asking “Why do you speak to them in parables.” The disciples had put their faith in Jesus and walked with Him. And in Heaven’s reality, JESUS IS THE ALTAR. The prophetic picture painted here is that a man is being given something Holy to carry, and he knows he is not fit to see and hear what he is seeing. The coal from the altar purifies him and makes it right for him to be standing in the presence of the Lord of heaven’s armies. When we present OURSELVES at the altar we are not worthy in ourselves, but Jesus has taken our place on that altar at the cross. And He touches us and removes our sin and purifies us.
We will break down the Isaiah encounter in reverse order The purpose of the encounter appears to be the Lord looking for a ready vessel to give His message to Israel. The message itself was given in a time when Israel was divided against itself, and was ruled by the Babylonians.
So it would be clear the PURPOSE is for Isaiah to receive the message. But before that: He Says Yes But Before that: He is consecrated at the Altar But Before that: He recognizes that in himself he is doomed But Before that: Behold His Glory
Bethel Church, Behold His Glory Bethel Church, Acknowledge your complete need for Him to touch your life Bethel Church, Let the Holy Spirit touch you and change everything Bethel Church, Say Yes to His call Bethel Church, receive from Him all that you will need to carry out to the world.
The message to the world is this. You have a Heavenly Father who loves you deeply. Through Jesus He has made a way for you to live a life of love that destroys anything the world would offer. In the Holy Spirit we have a new life that burns for a kingdom that is not of this world, that produces righteousness peace and Joy in us. It’s not always leaping and dancing, but it is so much fun. So I want to invite the band back up and lets do this together. Let’s behold Him, repent, be touched, say yes, and receive from Him.
