Every Time He Comes
Every Time He Comes
As believers, prayerfully, we believe Jesus is our savior. I say prayerfully because while it would defy the very definition of Christian we cant assume that is always the case. but for those of us who do understand this we also understand that the degree to which we understand is increased as we mature in or discipleship. In other words, the more we get to know Christ the more we recognize His presence. and the more we recognize His presence the more we recognize how He comes in. And, the more we recognize how He enters the more we honor His entrance by welcoming Him in!
The same thing was happening in antiquity in this moment. Jesus’ reputation was increasing because of how he was entering the spaces where people were awaiting his presence. Jesus was healing the sick, dropping bars that had people thinking instead of drinking. He talked about leaving the 99 to get the one…He talked about how two believers in agreement can lead to great things…How it is important to forgive.. h taught about divorce…he taught about allow the children to come to him..He created a reputation that allowed the crowds to see how he comes so that by the time He came to Jerusalem He was welcomed with acknowledgement of his being victorious by laying Palm leaves and gave him honor by laying down their clothes.
Are you wondering how Jesus coming into your situation
He comes Peacefully - donkey and the colt- the tradition of antiquity was to bring the donkey with the colt to render the colt peaceful.
He comes with Promise - Fulfilling the Promise (Zac 9:9)“Rejoice greatly, O daughter of Zion! Shout, O daughter of Jerusalem! Behold, your King is coming to you; He is just and having salvation, Lowly and riding on a donkey, A colt, the foal of a donkey. - Zachariah means Jehovah is renowned and remembered!
He comes on Purpose -
Hosanna (Save Us) to the Son of David!
Blessed is He who comes in the name of the LORD!’
Hosanna in the highest!”
Palm leaves symbolize victory and welcome- the savior was nigh.
