1. Feast off Saint Joseph

This is the day when our Mother Church honor Saint Joseph, the foster Father of Jesus Crist, and with him we pray for all the head of Families, that they find in the figure of Saint Joseph a model and protector.

Go and find his greatness

They best way to read the Old Testament is to see how the principal action are a figure of the events that are fulfilled in the New Covenant, Jesus teaches this way to his disciples, and it was the way to read the bible.

The Old It contains figures that are fulfil in the New Testament, let’s find some of figures refer to Saint Joseph.

· The first Joseph was by the envy of his brothers sold and sent into Egypt, the second Joseph fled into Egypt with Christ to escape the envy of Herod.

· Both are chaste.

· To the Joseph of old was given interpretation of dreams, to the new Joseph a share in the heavenly secrets.

· The power granted to him by Pharaoh. "You will be in charge of my house, and all my people will depend on your mouth. And in indication of this power, "he took the ring from his hand and put it on Joseph's hand, and made him wear fine linen robes, and put the gold necklace round his neck."

· God entrusted him with his greatest treasures, the innocence of his son and the purity of the Blessed Virgin.

· His predecessor kept a store of bread, not for himself, but for the whole nation; ourJoseph received the Living Bread from heaven, that he might preserve it for his own salvation and that of all the world.

2. Why is St. Joseph worthy?

He has a real marriage with the mother of God

He has a real relation with Jesus, as his foster Father.

3. Why is important his devotion ins this moment?

Men, fatherhood is under brutal attack, St. Joseph is a model of a Father

Say a prayer.

O gentle St. Joseph, in the trials that God sends us, through our brethren in the Faith, obtain for us from Him, two things of which you are an Exemplar: the Reverential Fear of children of God; and Fraternal Patience, with the Adoring Silence of the heart and tongue!

1. A week in San Jose

From time to time, he devotes a whole week to the glorious St. Joseph.

2. Celebrate the eighth

For the feast of St. Joseph, March 19, when one day is not enough to honor so great and holy a patron, celebrate the whole octave, which is the feast of the day and of the following week.

Every day he goes to Mass and gives alms in his name.

3. Wednesdays San Jose

Go every Wednesday, in honor of St. Joseph, to Mass and formally dedicate the Mass to him.

4. Hold a poor young man or girl in honor of St. Joseph.

He carries out the maintenance of a young man, in the hope that one day he may become a good priest or religious saint.

Or help a poor girl in honor of St. Joseph.

This devotion is more pleasing to him, because of its real effects and its solid, long-lasting results.

This kind of devotion deserves to be illustrated by some examples.

The mayor of a village in France, to which God had given no children, proposed to his wife that she should bring two orphaned children into her home.

After a while he placed them in a college and later in the diocesan seminary, and both became priests.

A lady whose fortune was not great, however, she constantly managed to keep either a student in the seminary, or a young nun in the novitiate of the missionaries

I do not remember even now that I have ever asked anything of [St. Joseph] which he has failed to grant… To other saints the Lord seems to have given grace to succour us in some of our necessities, but of this glorious saint my experience is that he succours us in them all…” (Autobiography of St. Teresa of Avila)
