Counsel
Walking in Counsel and Heavenly advice is very important
1 Blessed is the man who walks not in the counsel of the wicked,
nor stands in the way of sinners,
nor sits in the seat of scoffers;
2 but his delight is in the law of the LORD,
and on his law he meditates day and night.
The Holy Bible: English Standard Version (Wheaton, IL: Crossway Bibles, 2016), Ps 1:1–2.
Question? What Counsel are you walking in?
God
Walking speaks of a journey of life with different challenges and you choose to walk after the things that satisfy God’s heart.
Meditation has to do with your thoughts become united with God. It is a journey of allowing the word to become internal power and strength.
Day and Night shows us it take a daily practice to walk in the light and revelation of God.
Walking in Godly counsel allows you to fulfil the plan God has set before you. You now not only have the plan but the plan becomes a living reality
Walking has to do with the way in which you are going to reach a specific goal and purpose.
Walking has to do with you embodying God’s purpose and plan in the flesh.
Neglecting the counsel of God
14 So the men took some of their provisions, but did not ask counsel from the LORD
The Holy Bible: English Standard Version (Wheaton, IL: Crossway Bibles, 2016), Jos 9:14.
We can also reject the counsel of God and just want the provisions of God.
We can at times become so obssesed by provisions that we miss the true provision of God that is God’s counsel.
The Gibeonites was a people who wanted peace because they heard what God has done to the other nations that tried to come up against God’s people Israel.
These men tried to be deceitful and their approach. Take shortcuts and desired provisions but not to follow instruction and leadership counsel from Joshua. Therefore they forfeit being inheritors of anything and become woodcutters and people that carry water.
Their share could be inheritors and heirs. They gave up their share of inheritance and heirs.
Rejecting counsel can make us end up outside of our inheritance.
These men were more interested in provisions then God’s counsel.
Two elements the bread which signify the word of God.
The wine skin burst and means they never went into character transformation. Joshua could never become their father in the Lord.
They had no capacity to handle the wine that was poured because they contained old and torned wineskins.
Many people in the church world love the provisions of God but not the transformations and becoming carriers of the word of God.
Both of their containers they carried with them could not preserve what they have received.
Some people are not able to preserve what they have received.
These people shout covenant quickly and want what everyone must receive. Covenant is the right to inheritance. Many people want covenant based on what they can receive from you.
Israel was the covenant people and the Gibeonites were trying to become part of the covenant deceitfully.
Deceitful ways brings you into a place of missing the inherited place for your life.
On the other hadn the Israelites and Joshua allowed people into their camp without consulting God. These people might have corrupted their ways because the gibeonites had a deceitful and cunning way about them.
We must have discernment of cunning and deceitful people that wants to come into our space or circles. This is not a suspicious warning or making you more alert toward being a suspicious person.
God will set us in the midst of wise leadership
English Standard Version Chapter 9
9 As soon as all the kings who were beyond the Jordan in the hill country and in the lowland all along the coast of the Great Sea toward Lebanon, the Hittites, the Amorites, the Canaanites, the Perizzites, the Hivites, and the Jebusites, heard of this, 2 they gathered together as one to fight against Joshua and Israel.
3 But when the inhabitants of Gibeon heard what Joshua had done to Jericho and to Ai, 4 they on their part acted with cunning and went and made ready provisions and took worn-out sacks for their donkeys, and wineskins, worn-out and torn and mended, 5 with worn-out, patched sandals on their feet, and worn-out clothes. And all their provisions were dry and crumbly
The Gibeonites acted out of fear that the Israelites will defeat them if they go up in battle. Every symbol or item worn out sacks wineskins wornout and torn ,sandals worn out clothes. They were dry and crumbly.
This is the spiritual condition of the people of Gibeon.
English Standard Version Joshua (Chapter 9)
18 But the people of Israel did not attack them, because the leaders of the congregation had sworn to them by the LORD, the God of Israel. Then all the congregation murmured against the leaders. 19 But all the leaders said to all the congregation, “We have sworn to them by the LORD, the God of Israel, and now we may not touch them. 20 This we will do to them: let them live, lest wrath be upon us, because of the oath that we swore to them.” 21 And the leaders said to them, “Let them live.
Wise leadership honors covenant with God and advice people based on the covenant that is established. They said we are in agreement with God and based on that we will honor Godin obedience.
But because we are a family and a people that God has chosen let us crucify our desires and let go of fear. These Israelites was scared and fearful that these people will kill them later. Leaders who carry the fear of the Lord allow the people not to operate in their decision making through fear.
Many people coming into the church do not understand covenant relationship. As leaders we must emphasize and understand covenant leadership. This is a relationship that flows amongst us from the heart.
Finding Counsel from a Joshua type company that motives and heart is to lead you where the Lord wants you to be. That destination of your promised land.
This Counsel/Advice deals with not forfeiting your future in Christ but walking in it.

Asking means you give access to the person to give you sound advice that helps and elevates you into new heights.
Asking deal with discerning that God works through this person as God’’s voice to you.
27 for I did not shrink from declaring to you the whole counsel of God
The Holy Bible: English Standard Version (Wheaton, IL: Crossway Bibles, 2016), Ac 20:27.
Peter is telling us that apostolic leaders do not give their people some of the counsel of God. They teach them the whole counsel of God.
The reason for declaring the whole counsel of God has to do with your worldview being developed into a Kingdom perspective and mindset of life.
This Kingdom perspective is you shift from how you did life up until now and transition to kingdom way of life that makes you God’s instrument and representative of his image with your gifts and talents in the world.
The Declaration of the whole counsel of God perfects your faith and understanding of who God is and who you are in Him and what is your assignment and where do you fit in God’s body meaning you start to play your part.
Counsel in the Kingdom of God deals with Discipleship and your Sonship.
Counsel in the Kingdom deals with a journey of teaching and instruction.
Teaching in the Hebrew has all to do with training,
