THE PURPOSE OF JESUS LIFE

INTRODUCTION:

HOW MANY OF US ARE WILLING TO GO TO THE EXTREME TO PLEASE GOD.

THAT’S WHAT JESUS DID, EVEN THOUGH HE WAS SENT TO DIE ON THE CROSS, JESUS STAYED THE COURSE TO PLEASE HIS FATHER AND COMPLETE HIS ASSIGNMENT ON EARTH.

WHAT WAS THE PURPOSE OF JESUS LIFE.

TO DIE

TO BE A LIGHT

TO SAVE THE WORLD

A. TO DIE

John 12:27 “Now is my soul troubled; and what shall I say? Father, save me from this hour: but for this cause came I unto this hour.”

OBEDIENCE WILL ELEVATE YOU FROM A PHYSICAL LIFE TO A GLORIOUS LIFE.

JESUS IN HIS HUMANITY HAD QUESTIONS, BUT HE NEVER ALLOW THAT TO DETER HIM FROM THE PURPOSE GOD HAD HIM HERE FOR.

DEATH TO JESUS WAS LIFE TO US.

JESUS SAID VERILY VERILY, I SAY UNTO YOU, EXCEPT A CORN OF WHEAT FALL INTO THE GROUND AND DIE, IT ABIDETH ALONE: BUT IF IT DIE, IT BRINGETH FORTH MUCH FRUIT.

JESUS KNEW THE PURPOSE OF HIS DEATH, AND THAT WAS TO PLEASE HIS FATHER AND TO RESTORE MAN BACK TO GOD.

WHEN YOUR LIFE IS FULL WITH PURPOSE, YOU WILL NOT ALLOW ANYONE OR ANYTHING TO GET IN THE WAY OF PLEASING GOD.

JESUS HIMSELF HAD TO FACE MANY TROUBLES , HE HAD TO RAISE LAZARUS FROM THE DEAD, WAS BETRAYED JUDAS ISCARIOT, HAD TO ELUDE THE CHIEF PRIESTS FROM DEATH.

YOU WOULD THINK THIS WOULD DETER ANYONE FROM GOING THROUGH WITH GOD’S PLAN.

BUT WHEN YOU HAVE DIED TO THE SELF LIFE YOU ARE ABLE TO DO THE WILL OF GOD.

Matthew 26:38 “Then saith he unto them, My soul is exceeding sorrowful, even unto death: tarry ye here, and watch with me.”

B. TO BE A LIGHT

John 12:46 “I am come a light into the world, that whosoever believeth on me should not abide in darkness.”

JESUS WAS THE LIGHT IN THE WORLD THAT EXPEL DARKNESS IN THE LIFE OF PEOPLE.

JESUS LIGHT BROUGHT LIFE TO THOSE THAT WAS IN DARKNESS.

HIS LIGHT BROUGHT A AWARENESS TO THE CONDITION OF A LIFE OUTSIDE OF GOD.

LIGHT REMOVED THE SCALES OFF THE HUMAN EYE, SO THAT MANKIND CAN HAVE A GOD CONSCIENCE.

LIGHT IS THE REVELATION THAT DRAW PEOPLE TO GOD.

Colossians 1:13–14 “who hath delivered us from the power of darkness, and hath translated us into the kingdom of his dear Son: in whom we have redemption through his blood, even the forgiveness of sins:”

C. TO SAVE THE WORLD.

John 12:47 “And if any man hear my words, and believe not, I judge him not: for I came not to judge the world, but to save the world.”

JESUS CAME TO SAVE THE WORLD THROUGH HIS WORD. AND THE ONLY WAY PEOPLE WILL BE ABLE TO CHANGE THEIR LIVES, THEY NEED TO TURN THEIR HEARING INTO DOING.

JESUS MAIN PURPOSE FOR THE WORLD WAS NOT TO CONDEMN THE WORLD, BECAUSE THE LAW HAD ALREADY DONE IT.

JESUS CAME TO SAVE THE WORLD FROM LIVING LIKE THE WORLD.

JESUS MADE SALVATION AVAILABLE TO THOSE WHO WAS WILLING TO ACCEPT HIM AS LORD.

HIS WORD WAS THE ROAD MAP TO LIFE WITH HIM.

JESUS DID NOT COME TO JUDGE US , BUT ONCE WE DIE HIS WORD WILL.

Hebrews 1:1–3 “God, who at sundry times and in divers manners spake in time past unto the fathers by the prophets, hath in these last days spoken unto us by his Son, whom he hath appointed heir of all things, by whom also he made the worlds; who being the brightness of his glory, and the express image of his person, and upholding all things by the word of his power, when he had by himself purged our sins, sat down on the right hand of the Majesty on high;”
