David finds protection as he trusts in the Lord

David finds rest because of his trust in the Lord

a) (It appears) David wrote this Psalm in a time of trouble, although we’re not sure when in David’s life he wrote this, we know he faced many trials.

David Faced Many Trials:

King Saul was jealous of David and tried to kill him many times

It was a bad situation, where David left his wife and all his family because King Saul was trying to kill him

David’s son Absalom tried to kill him

1.1 (V2) David recognized where to find safety

Where do you run when your in trouble, facing a hardship, trial or whatever you want to call it?

a) Every good thing comes from God

1.2 (V4) David was determined to keep himself from serving other gods

a) David had the confidence to run to God because he kept himself from evil

b) David refused to take part in their sacrifices of blood
