According to NASA’s Scientist- The Sun formed about 4.6 billion years ago in a giant, spinning cloud of gas and dust called the solar nebula. As the nebula collapsed under its own gravity, it spun faster and flattened into a disk. Most of the nebula's material was pulled toward the center to form our Sun, which accounts for 99.8% of our solar system’s mass. Much of the remaining material formed the planets and other objects that now orbit the Sun.

Look to the signs God has placed in the sky as a way to encourage you to trust His promises.

1. What signs did God place in the sky? 2. Why did God place the signs in the sky? 3. How do the believers today find encouragement from the signs God has placed in the sky?

1. What signs did God place in the sky?

How can there be three days characterized by day and night before the creation of the luminaries to separate the day from the night and to mark off the days? Are we clueless?
James B. Jordan

Day one Light was Created thats before the Sun-

How can there be 3 passing days without the luminaries to separated the day and night
Sun is not what creates light- God Create the sun to emit the light that has already been created.
If you lived in a world with no sound and you created an instrument what would it sound like?
You would first have to create sound and determine what that is before you can create the objects that produce sound.
Luminaries
“Lights,” me’oroth, is not the same as “light,” ’or, of vs. 3 and 4; it means sources of light, light holders, luminaries.
Francis D. Nichol
- The Greater Light (Sun)
The Sun is 92.96 Million Miles away form the Earth
435,000 mile Radius
865,000 miles in Diameter
Yellow Dwarf Star
There hance been stars up to 100 Times larger than out sun
Some solar systems have more than one star.
27 Million Degrees F at the core and 10,000Degrees F on the surface
Comparing TO THE EARTH
3,958.8 Mile Radius
It would take more than 330,000 earths fo match the mass of the sun
It would take 1.3 Million Earths to fill the Sun’s Volume
A light year is the distance light travels in a year which is about 6 trillion miles
The Nearest stars to the Sun is a triple star system Red Dwarf, Proxima Centauri4.24 Lightyears aray Alpha Centauri A & B two sun likes stars that orbit each other 4.37 Light yeas away -
- The Lesser Light (Moon)
The Moon is 238,900 miles away form the earth.
Reflects the light of the sun
- As well as the stars (All of Them)
Using the Milky Way as our model, we can multiply the number of stars in a typical galaxy (100 billion) by the number of galaxies in the universe (2 trillion). The answer is an absolutely astounding number. There are approximately 200 billion trillion stars in the universe.
Psalm 147:4 “4 He counts the number of the stars; he gives names to all of them.”

We should be humbled to know that all and can see about the Luminaries is that God Created them yes to help our world have order and function but also as signs that we can lookin to the sky in the day or the night and know that our creator made these for us.

Psalm 19:1 “1 The heavens declare the glory of God, and the expanse proclaims the work of his hands.”
Heliocentric - Revolves around the Sun Roman Church Persecuted Galileo
Introduced Nicolaus Copernicus (1473-1543)
Geocentric was held by a large number of people it was originally pushed Ptolemy 100-170 B.C.
No names are assigned to the luminaries. This distinguishes Israelite religion from other ancient Near-Eastern religions that believe these entities to be deities (e.g., Re in Egypt).43 Luminaries are mere material objects with no life of their own, and they are never to be worshipped .
(Deuteronomy 4:19 “19 When you look to the heavens and see the sun, moon, and stars—all the stars in the sky—do not be led astray to bow in worship to them and serve them. The Lord your God has provided them for all people everywhere under heaven.”
John D. Currid
Instead of being above creation, the luminaries were creations themselves. Like all other created things, the luminaries serve God’s purposes and had no independent existence or function.
Paul J. Kisslin
If all the light of the heavenly luminaries had been contracted into one, it would have been destructive, not useful, to our sight; but being by divine wisdom distributed into sun, moon, and stars, each giving out his own proportion, it is suited to declare the glory of God and to enlighten the world. So, if the whole revelation of the glory of Christ, and all that belongs unto it, had been committed into one series and contexture of words, it would have overwhelmed our minds rather than enlightened us. Why God has distributed the light of it through the whole firmament of the books of the Old and New Testament; whence it communicates itself, by various parts and degrees, unto the proper use of the church.
John Owen

2. Why did God place the signs in the sky?

Seasons (Festivals)
Since the Earth Orbit around the sun and spins on its axis we experience seasons, day and night and changing shadows throughout the day.
Signs for Days
Days
The rotation of the earth around the sun is 24 hours
The Light from the sun is on half of the Earth at any given time.
Shadows are longer in the afternoon - Sundials have been used for thousands of years to help keep track of the time of the day.
The sun doesn't travel across the sky it looks that way as we are spinning.
Night
The side of the Earth that does not have light we is nighttime and during that time we see the moon
as well as the stars
Signs for Months
The moon orbits in and elongated circle around the earth every 27.322 days.
Because the moon does not have a magnetic field Its spins on it axis once each time it orbits and this i why we only see one side of the Moon.
Depending upon the time of the year we see diffrent stars in the sky.
Signs for Years
Years The Orbit of the Earth around the Sun 365.25 days

THe place he put the sun is perfect to create the needed climat
If we were close ice woudl melt
If we were futher we would freez
God perfect order shows that we are specil!

God’s sovereignty over Time

By back the Time
God’s sovereignty over Time
Redeem the Time
Eph 5:15–16. 15 Pay careful attention, then, to how you walk—not as unwise people but as wise—16 making the most of the time,, because the days are evil.
But that is not the only reason we can find encouragement and the faithfullness of God by the signs in the sky.

3. How do the believers today find encouragement from the signs God has placed in the sky?

We see Gods Order over the universe
We See Gods Sovereignty over His creation
We see the faithfulness of God every day.
He cares for you!
Jeff Johnson
As we begin our day try sitting outside or look out the window and as the sun comes up and pray. Think about the premisses that God has made to the believers.
He will never leave us nor forsake us.
We wont be snatched from His had.
We are adopted as children.
And then watch what happens.
GOD KEEPS HIS Promises !
Also what if we dont see the sun? What happens if it is cloudy. What happens if it is raining. We still know that the sun is behind the clouds.
We still can look up to see Gods Faithfulness and maybe understand it more so.
As when the difficulties in this life and the struggles and heartache come- And it will come God is still there He is Faithful!

We dont have to guess we do not have to wonder about what is to come

We know that God Cares for us.
Genesis 8:2222 As long as the earth endures, seedtime and harvest, cold and heat, summer and winter, and day and night will not cease.””
Jeremiah 33:19–25 “19 The word of the Lord came to Jeremiah: 20This is what the Lord says: If you can break my covenant with the day and my covenant with the night so that day and night cease to come at their regular time, 21 then also my covenant with my servant David may be broken. If that could happen, then he would not have a son reigning on his throne and the Levitical priests would not be my ministers. 22 Even as the stars of heaven cannot be counted, and the sand of the sea cannot be measured, so too I will make innumerable the descendants of my servant David and the Levites who minister to me.” 23 The word of the Lord came to Jeremiah: 24 “Have you not noticed what these people have said? They say, ‘The Lord has rejected the two families he had chosen.’ My people are treated with contempt and no longer regarded as a nation among them. 25 This is what the Lord says: If I do not keep my covenant with the day and with the night, and if I fail to establish the fixed order of heaven and earth,”

We can trust and look to the sky - As long as the Earth endures and we continues to have the general revelation that God has provided and know he will do what he has promised to do!

one soul made in the image of God is more precious to Him than all the starry universe. Astronomy deals with space and matter and motion; theology deals with life and personality and the mystery of being.4
A. W. Tozer

Astronomy- is great! It is the study of works of God!

Astrology- The Zodiac and the Horoscopes

Deuteronomy 18:9–14 “9 “When you enter the land the Lord your God is giving you, do not imitate the detestable customs of those nations. 10 No one among you is to sacrifice his son or daughter in the fire, practice divination, tell fortunes, interpret omens, practice sorcery, 11 cast spells, consult a medium or a spiritist, or inquire of the dead. 12 Everyone who does these acts is detestable to the Lord, and the Lord your God is driving out the nations before you because of these detestable acts. 13 You must be blameless before the Lord your God. 14 Though these nations you are about to drive out listen to fortune-tellers and diviners, the Lord your God has not permitted you to do this.”
(Deuteronomy 4:19 “19 When you look to the heavens and see the sun, moon, and stars—all the stars in the sky—do not be led astray to bow in worship to them and serve them. The Lord your God has provided them for all people everywhere under heaven.”
Jeremiah 8:1–2 “1 “At that time”—this is the Lord’s declaration—“the bones of the kings of Judah, the bones of her officials, the bones of the priests, the bones of the prophets, and the bones of the residents of Jerusalem will be brought out of their graves. 2 They will be exposed to the sun, the moon, and all the stars in the sky, which they have loved, served, followed, consulted, and worshiped. Their bones will not be collected and buried but will become like manure on the soil’s surface.”
Jeremiah 10:2 “2 This is what the Lord says: Do not learn the way of the nations or be terrified by signs in the heavens, although the nations are terrified by them,”
Jeremiah 19:13 “13 The houses of Jerusalem and the houses of the kings of Judah will become impure like that place Topheth—all the houses on whose rooftops they have burned incense to all the stars in the sky and poured out drink offerings to other gods.’ ””
Zephaniah 1:5 “5 those who bow in worship on the rooftops to the stars in the sky; those who bow and pledge loyalty to the Lord but also pledge loyalty to Milcom;”
Milcom. Also known as Molech, the Ammonite idol to whom people sacrificed their children.
Edward A. Engelbrecht
(1400 BC), fortune-telling was done by observing the flight of birds, or by examining the entrails of a sacrificed animal. About 1000 years later, the Babylonians developed a system of fortune-telling using the movements of the sun, the moon, the stars and the planets. They developed instruments to observe the positions of the heavenly bodies and also to measure time and speed accurately. The Babylonians were the world's first astronomers to calculate the length of the year at 365 days, 6 hours, 15 minutes, and 41 seconds. Our 24-hour system of measuring time with 60 minutes per hour and 60 seconds per minute originated from the Babylonians. They also produced the world's first constellation maps and were able to accurately predict where the heavenly bodies would be at any specified time.

The Gospel in the Stars

Over 140 years ago a book titled Mazzaroth - Means Constellations in Hebrew was published by Frances Rolleston
She made an attempt to state that the Gospel has been visible in the stars. In this she said that the full plan of salvation was given to Adam and he preserved the message in the Mazzaroth or the Constellation and stars.
And once the written word was given the stars were no longer needed and that faded away and the ungdoly men changed the meaning of the stars and mingled it with mythology and turned it into the religion of astrology.
Signs of the Covenants
Noah - Rainbow Genesis 9:1212 And God said, “This is the sign of the covenant I am making between me and you and every living creature with you, a covenant for all future generations:”
Abraham - Stars in the Sky Genesis 15:55 He took him outside and said, “Look at the sky and count the stars, if you are able to count them.” Then he said to him, “Your offspring will be that numerous.”” - 100 billion
King Hekiziah the shadow moving back word 10 steps.
Signs of the Coming of Christ
1,400 B.C. God used a non-Jewish, Mesopotamian soothsayer named Balaam to prophesy to the Moabites
Numbers 24:17 “17 I see him, but not now; I perceive him, but not near. A star will come from Jacob, and a scepter will arise from Israel. He will smash the forehead of Moab and strike down all the Shethites.”
Micah 5:2 “2 Bethlehem Ephrathah, you are small among the clans of Judah; one will come from you to be ruler over Israel for me. His origin is from antiquity, from ancient times.”
The Angles in the Heaves Luke 2:15 “15 When the angels had left them and returned to heaven, the shepherds said to one another, “Let’s go straight to Bethlehem and see what has happened, which the Lord has made known to us.””
Signs of the Death of Christ
The Sun was Dark for 3 hours.
Joshua 10:12-14 The Sun Stood still to give Joshua victory over the Amorites
Signs of the End of Times
Isaiah 13:10 “10 Indeed, the stars of the sky and its constellations will not give their light. The sun will be dark when it rises, and the moon will not shine.”
Ezekiel 32:7–8 “7 “ ‘When I snuff you out, I will cover the heavens and darken their stars. I will cover the sun with a cloud, and the moon will not give its light. 8 I will darken all the shining lights in the heavens over you, and will bring darkness on your land. This is the declaration of the Lord God.”
Luke 21:25 “25 “Then there will be signs in the sun, moon, and stars; and there will be anguish on the earth among nations bewildered by the roaring of the sea and the waves.”
Amos 5:8 “8 The one who made the Pleiades and Orion, who turns darkness into dawn and darkens day into night, who summons the water of the sea and pours it out over the surface of the earth— the Lord is his name.”
Matthew 24:29–31 “29 “Immediately after the distress of those days, the sun will be darkened, and the moon will not shed its light; the stars will fall from the sky, and the powers of the heavens will be shaken. 30 Then the sign of the Son of Man will appear in the sky, and then all the peoples of the earth will mourn; and they will see the Son of Man coming on the clouds of heaven with power and great glory. 31 He will send out his angels with a loud trumpet, and they will gather his elect from the four winds, from one end of the sky to the other.”
Re 6:12–14.
12 Then I saw him open the sixth seal. A violent earthquake occurred; the sun turned black like sackcloth made of hair; the entire moon became like blood; 13 the stars of heaven fell to the earth as a fig tree drops its unripe figs when shaken by a high wind; 14 the sky was split apart like a scroll being rolled up; and every mountain and island was moved from its place.
Revelation 12:1 “1 A great sign appeared in heaven: a woman clothed with the sun, with the moon under her feet and a crown of twelve stars on her head.”
Revelation 21:22–25 “22 I did not see a temple in it, because the Lord God the Almighty and the Lamb are its temple. 23 The city does not need the sun or the moon to shine on it, because the glory of God illuminates it, and its lamp is the Lamb. 24 The nations will walk by its light, and the kings of the earth will bring their glory into it. 25 Its gates will never close by day because it will never be night there.”

Conclusion:

NASA: Like all stars, our Sun will eventually run out of energy. When it starts to die, the Sun will expand into a red giant star, becoming so large that it will engulf Mercury and Venus, and possibly Earth as well. Scientists predict the Sun is a little less than halfway through its lifetime and will last another 5 billion years or so before it becomes a white dwarf.
Matthew 24:35 “35 Heaven and earth will pass away, but my words will never pass away.”
