Who missed Easter? Those Who call Him King

Now the moment finally arrives with Jesus’ entrance into the city. Jesus instructs his disciples to bring him a colt on which he may ride into Jerusalem. As Jesus rides toward Jerusalem, crowds line the road, cover the road with their cloaks, and shout that he is the messianic king. However, as Jesus draws near to Jerusalem, he mourns over the city. Jesus mourns because he knows the rejection he will face there and the judgment that will fall on the city as a result.

Jesus declares Himself KING-LORD

Luke 19:27 ESV

But as for these enemies of mine, who did not want me to reign over them, bring them here and slaughter them before me.’ ”

Jesus is going to war, because He is King and good Kings go to war to save their people.....He goes in an unconventional way =rides on a donkey because He is the King of Peace going to the city of peace to bring peace

Jesus must be King or He cant be your savior “If Christ is not King, indisputably King, then satan remains on the throne and you are a lost soul. ......May I say firmly that it is your favorite sins that have to go, the ones you secretly adore have to be abandoned. Most important of all, love of yourself and pride in your reputation must go, for to talk about being saved, and Jesus as King, and yet to love your own way is absolute blasphemy.” Alan Redpath

The people shout Hosanna here calling Him King and in mere days the adoration becomes hatred....Hosanna becomes Hostile

you can be right in your knowledge and wrong in your heart and go to hell ===Jesus must be King or He can’t be your savior

Jesus proclaims His rightful position as The King, but He never forces His monarchy on any one!!!

Jesus as King employs the service of His people

He commissions some to go and some to give and some to do both

They go and give for Jesus=they see it as His not theirs

Worship is natural response to the work of Jesus

There are many here who know the word of God but not the God of the Word

1989 Exxon Valdez crashes spilling 11 million gallons of oil into the water the captain was drinking and let an uncertified person steer the ship and he ran it aground in the reef....the captain didn’t recognize the the time at hand....he was convicted and sentenced for negligence....It was overturned by a court 3yrs later because of a federal statute that grants freedom from prosecution to those who report an oil spill.....God will overturn your guilty charge if you will only report to Jesus the oil spill of your life causing damage everywhere...
